Default best build for 'solo' play

Hello there.

I know it is impossible to properly solo but can someone suggest a good build for this?

I am pretty noob btw

can i assume with you reply that you dont believe it possible to solo with an assasin then?

I have a teeny bit more experience with GWF now and I believe what I was after, i guess, is a 'build' which would be good enough for 'farming(?)'. I am still on the island and I find you can properly solo a good chunk of it. I was thinking of using monk as my secondary.

I appreciate i need henchmen for quests etc but i want to farm now and again.

Any constructive help?

Assassins cannot solo due to their fragility. They need either Henches (This is probalby what you meant) or the company of good healers and tanks.

I've been running with an A/Me and I can tell you that your biggest problem's gonna be avoiding hits instead of taking them. Due to the assassin's lack of evade skills and Ranger-equivalent armor they take damage like a royal bitch, So much so that even a monk secondary would have a hard time repairing the damage in the heat of battle. I would recommend Ranger or Mesmerer secondaries for evade, mainly Ranger because he's got more dodging skills and the famous Troll Unguent.

If you need somthing to start off with, Shing-Jea monastary skills will hold you well until you reach Kaineng City. Until then you should seriously research builds that can both kill key targets FAST. The sole reason I went A/Me was to get degen and spike benefits from the Mesmerer class so killing gets easier (though I found various perks with Illusion of Weakness/Blackout.)

Farming though, I seriously doubt that's gonna happen. As stated before, Sin's cannot solo due to their fragility. Using a Mo Secondary provides Vigorous Spirit, which I use alot for my Ranger char.

If you need any more advice, just post what you need me to elaborate on. That or contact me in GW, my character is Cid Nocturne.

Sorry i havent replied earlier but the server at work has been down, meaning that i have had to work - grrrrr!

Thanks for the advice and the build guys. I am sure that when i get into GWs, the build will make sense to me ;oP

May I assume from both of your posts that you are itimating that the humble Sin may not be ideal for farming?

I get the impression from reading the forums that my boy might be better used for sneaking passed the front line of a mob to quickly take out those healing casters or other prime target - as you would expect of a good assassin - not blitz through the explorable areas farming for loot.

I understand that you can share loot from char to chat so i guess i should build a warrior monk for farming and use my sin with henchies. Time to look in the warrior forums.

thanks again

Andy

heres an idea for soloing farming with assassins just make assassin/monk and use the monk 55 or 105 build get cheap sin armor and put supiorer runes on it and use monk prot spells and healing with sins attacking skills .... that might help ... look in monk form for 55 or 105 hp builds to gain better idea .... anything with monk secondary can do it ....

I solo-farm with my assassin all the time. It doesn't take a genius to learn how to isolate bosses and take them out for some easy cash

Exact skill selection depends on the intended target, but let's just say that Assassin/Warrior is a good start-point

know thy enemy... in cantha it's much harder to solo farm as mobs are alot of balanced (mes to strip enc, necro to de buff, warr/ele to pwn the sh*t out of you) sometimes, bosses can also be accompanied by 1-2 enemies, making solo harder... not to mention asn has crap armour...

if it's 1v1, then i believe no other class can solo farm better than assassin...

edit: look up critical axe assassin (or something similiar) for a decent sin farming build...
