Default UW Duo farming - few questions

Not asking for any builds etc, rather I was wondering about the following :

The run - Do you go in just to kill the smites? Meaning, clear the first room, kill all the smites then restart the run. Or do you clear out the first room, kill the smites then come back and clear the back rooms?

Also how long does it take you to do the smite run? (Just the smites and not going back for the other rooms?) And how is your drop rate then?

I'm asking because our drop rate seems rather bad most of the time, we have been clearing the back rooms for a while now because there you sometimes get an ecto drop from the terrorwebs. But obviously this takes some time.

Should we rather be focussing on getting as many runs in as possible instead of clearing out everything?

It's totally your decision. When I UW farmed a lot with a good friend, when let's say 3 ecto's dropped on the smite run, we would go back and clear the remaining aatxes so we would both get an equal amount of ecto's. Most pugs just does a smite run.

A smite run takes roughly from 20 to 30 minutes. All depending on the necro's ability to kill fast and the tanks ability to tank many foes.

I hope this could answer some of your questions.

A typical smite run is around 20-30 minutes. It really depends on your mood at the time, you can get boatloads of xp from going out to the village, and it's almost as fast as the smites.

Thanks, that roughly is the same time we spend doing the smite bit. Now the question is : do we focus on the smite run or do that little bit extra. Obviously we are trying to maximise our income from each run.

Thanks for the replies

with the dual monk build you can do a smite run in 15-18 mins.

There was a time when a guildie and I were farming for ectos and it seemed that ectos were dropping more often from the Aatxes than the Smites. Even though it took longer, we started to clear the back rooms before going for the Smites.

After awhile, we just focused on doing the Smites, just to get more runs in, and only went of the Aaxtes in the back rooms when Europe lost favor whilst we were in there.

I think it's really up to you. If you find that clearing the back rooms is boring and slow, then just do the Smite run.
