Default Hip-hip-Hukhrah! (Farming)

Farming what? http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Hukhrah%27s_Staff
From who/where? http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Hukhrah_Earthslove

Intro:
Well, I'll be the first to admit that a staff based on Divine with 20/20 Casting/Recharge to Divine isn't exactly the most sought out item in the game. However, I was bored yesterday and thought I'd try my hand at farming Hukhrah with my necro.

As it turns out, Rebirther's N/Me Incetol/Spiritgarden farming build works out well here. I made only one adjustment which was to swap Inspired Enchantment out for Leech Signet.

Attributes:
16 Curses (12 + 1 + 3)
12 Inspiration
3 Illusion

Skills:
Spiteful Spirit {E}
Reckless Haste
Price of Failure
Spirit Shackles
Spirit of Failure
Leech Signet
Ether Feast
Distortion

Weapon(s):
Your choice. I went with the Stonereaper because I had it, but you could go w/ a 20/20 curse wand and a 20/20 inspiration offhand. There are no interrupts aside from the occasional knockdown so fast casting isnt' really a major issue. Fast recharge is nice though.

The farm (short version):
Use terrain to hide from ranged Yetis while killing melee Yetis with SS + Price of Failure + Spirit of Failure + Distortion. Finish off ranged Yetis using the same combo. Pull Hukhrah out of cave and hope he sticks on his ranged mob members. Kill his warriors as described above then e-deny Hukhrah and kill him with SS.

The farm (long version):
1. Exit Aspenwood Gate into the Monk Qinkai region.

2. Take the blessing from the priest. This is incredibly useful since it will remove all but one pip of degen if you happen to trigger a viper's nest trap.

3. The first mob of yetis you meet on the way to the cave is 2-3 in size and is randomly composed of warrior/ranger/ritualist yetis. First trigger any traps and wait for you conditions to clear. You don't want to be crippled when you aggro. Wait for them to group and cast reckless haste. If there are 3 and they are all warriors, run back to shrine and kill. (This is rare.) Typically you'll have 1-2 warriors. As they charge you move downhill and use the terrain to block any rock throwing yeti archers/ritualists. If it's one warrior then just unload all your "chance to miss" skills on him. Spam distortion and SS. SS + PoF will take him out fast. Leech Signet his Healing Signet if you can. Recharge and move up to cast Reckless Haste + SS + PoF + Spirit Shackles + SoF on the remaining range-attacking yeti. Distortion as needed. Ether Feast as need.

4. The second mob of yeti is just up the hill a bit more. While it is possible to kill them they are easily skirted and this is what I recommend. (When you're better at this you can go and kill them. Then move over and kill Chehbaba as well for his Cripshotter's longbow.)

5. Now you will see on the left a mob of Yeti with a Ritualist Yeti boss. These are also easily dispatched using terrain to hid from the ritualists/rangers while tanking the warrior yeti. I recommend avoiding them until you get the hang of the build. You will also see a roving band of Rot Wallows on the right. AVIOD them like the plague.

6. Move between the Wallows and Yeti towards the Yeti cave. You will see 2-3 Yeti. They will set some traps and move away from you. Follow them avoiding the traps if possible. These Yeti will fight another group of 3-4 Rot Wallows. Help the Wallows by Reckless Hasting + SS any ranged Yeti.

7. Once the Wallows have won head into the cave. There is a group of around 6 Yeti. Lure out of the cave to the Rot Wallows that just fought the other Yeti mob. Let them fight. The Yeti usually win, but lose one or two of their mob.

8. Once the Yeti retreat to the cave pull them back out. IMPORTANT: as you run out of the cave you can go to the left (when looking out the cave). There you can hide next to the cave wall behind some rock that sticks out. The ranged Yeti won't be able to hit you. Then tank the 1-2 warrior Yeti that come out. It's the same deal as before. RH + PoF + Spirit of Failure + Distortion. Of course sprinkle with a liberal amount of Spiteful Spirit. Ether Feast/Distortion as needed. After the warriors are dead, use SS + Spirit of Failure on the Yeti that are blocked by the wall.

9. Deeper into the Yeti cave you will find Hukhrah, the object of all this insanity. He's nasty. He Banishes for 116 dmg and he wands for 108. DO NOT frontal assault. Instead wand one of his mob and run back out the cave to where you fought the last mob. IMPORTANT: you want Hukhrah to get caught behind the ritualists/rangers in his mob. Otherwise he'll run up to the warriors that you're tanking and heal them + Banish you. OUCH! If he doesn't get caught, then run until aggro breaks and try the pull again. Once the warriors are dispatched you can go after Hukhrah. Hex him with Reckless Haste or PoF. He will Expunge Hexes. Then go after him with Spirit Shackles. He will Banish and you will Ether Feast. Keep Shackling him until his energy is gone. Then go ahead and SS + PoF + RH. (Use Spirit of Failure to regain energy.) With e-denial you'll be Banished about 2-3 times which you can easily outheal with Ether Feast if you have Spirit of Failure up.

Is all this trouble worth it?
Hmmm, not really. It's a long and involved farm and there's really no market for Divine req weapons. However, I was bored on a Sunday afternoon (had AB-burnout) and thought I'd try something different. Also, you never know... maybe Nightfall will introduce some mad-Divine-skillz that people will want this staff for.

Lastly, I decided to preserve my efforts for posterity... or at least until Guru goes off the air.

Notes: I successfully killed Tomton Spiriteater and Chehbaba Roottripper in this same run. (Did have some deaths, but not from either of these two bosses.)

Congrats for the smart farming strategy, the build is well known but the usage in this case actually requires skill.

For the staff, I wanted it to experiment the Blessed Light build (premade monk FTW) and I tried to see where the boss was, as soon I found and checked the surroundings I decided to buy (got it for 5,5k on auction site). In my opinion it's a good and very underestimated staff.

Thanks. I can't claim any originality except for application of the build. I've got my monk part way through factions so I'll have to pick up Blessed Light and see how it goes. I like the idea of BL + Divine Boon on a Mo/Me with some points in inspiration to make up for the energy loss from Boon. I'll have to see how that works out in PvE.

Cheers!
