anyone try compare it?

i have and there is a small but definite difference. Most protection from armors and spells target peircing, but slashing is the most familiar to people. I go with slashing only because there r little to no skill at all the specificly fends off slashing damage. That is also the reason y everthorn chakrams r more expensive then ceremonial daggers in case u were wondering. The best advice i can give u is just carry both types of daggers and swap them when u think one is more effective than the other

"Shields Up!" will gimp your piercing damage daggers in PvP, I would suggest to use slashing.

No, I would go with slashing damage if possible, because of the same reason other people have said, Piercing damage is affected by "shields up" and other +AL vs Piercing damage.
It's not like it matters a huge amount anyway, because most of the damage from assassins comes from +skill damage.

There is a noticeable difference. Slashing is better.

that sucks then, it is hard to get slash dagger that I need (En+5) beside the green that don't have the mod I need (Zealous + fortitute).
the dagger I need:
Max Slash Damage, En+5, Zealous, Fortitute.
Max Slash Damage, 15%^50 (butterfly knife will do) or En+5, Suncering/Vempiric, Fortitude ( sound like Everthron or Shiro(req 15 !!!) but they are expansive)
they are hard to get or make

There used to be a build to solo everthorn, but now he has 2 Mobs spawn with him who go with him, before you could just lure him away from the mob, now you need to kill the other two aswell.
Try to get some guildies to come farm with you, say a 3 way split, each person gets a set, if they dont need it they can sell for 20-30k

Thank, but I do forge a Vempiric Butterfly Knife that work the same. all I need for it is a Fortitute handle to replicate it.
BTW, has anyone see a En+5 butterfly knife/ Krambits/ Kukris/ Split Chakrams before ? cuz I don't want some weird skin like Karmas.
I have En +5 Sai and Oni Dagger already. want slash damage

I just use Shiro's Blades with watchful spirit as my healing enchant to negate the vamp, doing as much damage as a sword due to +3 vamp damage at a faster rate is great. ANd watchful spirit is good for attacking while AoD is recharging.

I don't know where to begin here really... You should never have a "healing enchant" as you call it on an assassin, for any reason ever. Watchful spirit does not help you survive anything, ever. The only thing you'll survive through watchful spirit is a parasitic bond spike. If you aren't attacking theres no reason to use vamp, why not switch to another set?
I guess my efforts will fall on deaf ears though, there doesn't seem to be a cure for the wammo mentality.

pfft... I don't see why it's the type of daggers that you use which determines how you attack your target. Silly Game Mechanics...

i personally would go for slash dmg, as Hidden in the Mist mentioned there is a counter to piercing dmg, not that u would see Shields Up! used often, its still a possible counter,
i remember buying a piercing dmg axe several months back for HoH thinking it may have some advantage, only to come up against a ranger spike team with Shields Up!, and the axe did minimal dmg
