Aren't 55s useless in Factions anyway? There's not really anywhere to 55 is there?

To deal enough damage, you'll need Shield of Judgement. It's a Prophecies-only Elite skill found in Mineral Springs, S.Shiverpeaks

No.
There are plenty of places (just not as easily accesible as the Troll Cave in Talus Chute).

I haven't found any place worth 55ing in Factions. There is some new build called the Shirtless 600HP build but so far I'm having a lot of trouble finding details on different ways to play this. The only thing I've ever found about it would be a guide on GWFreaks that gives skills and attri, but doesn't explain how it's even possible. It says you need 16 smite, 13 divine, and 11 Prot or something like that, but I don't know how it's possible to get those attributes and still get 600HP...

anyway does anyone else have helpful links to explain the 600HP builds with clarity. again I can find some videos too for it, but no good explanations of runes/attri and all that.

The 600 monk, I believe is a variant of the dual smiting monk, or is the same thing with a different name. Low armor, spirit bond and another monk to enchant you with smiting skills kills quicker and more safe than a 55/ss combo.

55ing useless in Factions? Well there is also access to UW in Factions, so yeah, I could see why people would want it.

Please for the love of god, don't 55 in missions or quests with other people. Tell us what skills you have and maybe we can help you with what skills you need. Are you running solo or dual in UW from Zin Ku? More information if you want a proper answer.

You need:

Well i have a different build, its for dual uw farming but should be similar to what you need:

All Armor should be Shing Jea ( 15 AL )
- Headgear and Sup Rune in Prot
- Pants with Sup Rune in Divine Favour
- Shoes with Major Health Rune

Then you need a +30 or +45 while enchanted offhand item.

Cast vital blessing on yourself ( +211 HP )

Tweak to your liking...

hmm

you can always go to old mo/w farming, but your aoe damage will scare away the monsters, it might take time but still it should work for you

example
Mo/W

Mending
Healing Breeze
Balth Aura
Bonnetti
zealots
Prot Spirit

but then again, neither essence bond nor balth spirit are factions only skills, so you will get stuck again, so just for adding 2 more cents, 55 monk farming in cantha is useless there are only few maps you can farm well.

Warriors, rangers are so far best for farming in cantha so if you are monk its better of 3-man urgoz farming or just monking in urgoz/deep.

i was gonna suggest mo/n with spiteful but then again
spiteful is prophecies only, i think you should buy prophecies ^____^

Pretty much. You can set up like a 55, but use Spirit Bond _and_ Protective Spirit. The key is to use the cheapest crappiest starter armor you can, so every hit from mobs should do more than 50 damage to you - that way you'll be healed for more than you lose every hit.

It's more robust than the 55 monk, as it can handle moderate amounts of degen (like, say, poison) and doesn't fall down the second its enchants get stripped, and has the added advantage over 55's that it can tank unlimited number of enemies and never get overwhelmed.

The name "600 monk" is a misnomer. You don't at all need 600 health, it works perfectly fine with lower health.

Basically it's a cheaper and improved version of the 55 monk.

OH, and regarding the OP's question: You can for instance farm Jade Knights with a 55 in Cantha, as long as you don't attack groups with a necromancer in them. Yeti are also easily farmed with a 55, as long as you interrupt their healing.

The only downside is that the 600 monk can't fight weak/low-level mobs, because they don't do enough damage to trigger Spirit Bond.

About the 600 monk...

EDIT: Someone posted as I was typing that said the same thing as this next paragraph.

You do NOT need 600 Health. Spirit Bond tiggers BEFORE Protective Spirit, therefore even if you take 48 damage AFTER prot spirit, you would still get healed if you took more than 60 damage BEFORE prot spirit. This is what makes the build "invincible." You will always be healed more than you are hurt, provided that the enemy does more than 60 damage a pop.

Here's a basic 600 Monk setup...

Armor: Ascetic's 15 AL
Weapon/Offhand: Totem Axe/Protective Icon

I'm not gonna go into attributes specifically, but anything with high prot and divine favor works well. I use a Mo/Me with 8 in Inspiration for Mantra of Resolve to avoid interrupts. If you're soloing, bring some smiting too.

Skills:
Blessed Signet
Mantra of Resolve
Protective Spirit
Spirit Bond
Shield of Judgment
Balthazar's Spirit
Blessed Aura
Retribution

So what you do is cast the maintained enchants, regen energy, aggro your prey, cast prot spirit, spirit bond, and mantra of resolve, then Shield of Judgment. Replenish Prot Spirit and spirit bond as needed

Now, on-topic about the 55 monk...

You need Mending, Healing Breeze, Prot Spirit, and either Essence Bond or Balthazar's Spirit for sure. This gives you your invincibility. f you can't get these skills, buy prophecies. It's your best bet. Retribution is decent damage if the enemy can't heal. Everything else is really up to you.

EDIT 2: Wording.

I farmed up Tarlok's Flagon yesterday, along with a ss friend, basically using my uw build but with boon signet in the place of SB, and mo/me for resolve so:

BlesAura
Mend
BalSpirit
PS
BoonSig{e}
Breeze
BlessedSIG
Mantra of resolve

9 insperation
13 healing

The rest should be obvious.

The point is there are creative uses to be found for 55 monks in factions.
Now I'm going to go find more just because.

Edit:
I also managed to find a creative use for the seemingly worthless elite, Boon Signet.

If you only have factions then you can't solo 55hp. You need sheild of judgement which is only in prophecies. There are also a few other skills only in prophecies that are useful for 55hp.
