Warders, AoE bombers that are very fragile, and solo-ers. I have to go now, so...

Well, I am an earth ele, and I prefer dealing direct damage to one enemy (not nuking). Here is the build I run:
E/Mo
Stone Daggers
Stoning
Obsidian Flame
Any Ele enchantment that boosts armor or an attunement
Healing Breeze
Healing Touch
Glyph of Energy (E)
Ressurection Signet
Basically you just use the armor booster then start spiking away. Remember to use Glyph of Energy before you use Obsidian Flame (exhaustion). If you're low on health use healing breeze and follow up with a healing touch.

Geotanking is great fun and works like a charm if you do it right. And you CAN solo.
Stone Daggers,
Aftershock
Earth Attunement
Armor of Earth
Ward against Mele
Silver Armor
Kenetic Armor
Shield of Judgment
Done right you can dosh our a gross amount of damage in a rather quick period of time. I farm snakedance with my friend who's a monk. She uses Aura of Faith, Healing Seed, Vigirous Spirit, Mending, and Dwynas Kiss.
No kidding with all the enchantments on me and the Aura of faith DK was healing for well over 700 each time. Which is more than my max health.
Mesmer's can be a bit tricky but there are ways around them.

Heh, another Earth ele. Good to see some of ya. First of all, Earth Magic isn't about flat-out damage, like burninating people with Fire Magic (that's not to say it can't damage, of course). Most obviously, Earth Magic is defensive in nature. There's 2 solid defensive skills that I nearly always take if I play Earth - Armour of Earth, with maxed Earth Magic it more than halves the damage you take from most sources - and Ward Against Melee, which is extremely effective in most areas too.
For damage, untill you are confident enough to play a point-blank Earth elementalist, then the Elite Glyph of Energy is your best friend. It means you can happily pull off 3 Obsidian Flames roughly every 30 seconds without any build-up of exhaustion, which is some hefty armour-ignoring damage. Also, it allows you to happily cast Earthquake/Dragon's Stomp to your hearts content, which are very effective AoE spells.
That's pretty much all the insight I can be bothered to drag up about Earth Magic, so I'll leave you to experiment with it's intricacies and find what works best for you. Good luck, and have fun.

There aren't many of us but those who play an earth ele well are usually a force to be recond with. Sliver armor is a nasty skill to and in as well when you are fighting point blank. It take 2 skill slots but if you run Armor of earth, and kenetic at the same time you can push your armour to above 220 for a rather long period of time.
I did the last night in an alliance battle and had 3 axe warriors wailing on me. the attacks were rolling off me for -3 to -9. **yawn** Once I poped off Sliver, Crystal Wave and Aftershock there wasn't much left and a few well placed OB flames and/or stone daggers was all it took.
If you feel really ambitious drop in obsidian flesh and giggle every time you get attacked. It's a lot of fun.
I know I am using Alliance battles as an example here but the method works for PVE as well. Just watch out for mesmers and necros as you still won't have much of a defence against them.
if you want more help on PVE earth ele's my in game name is Kara Lorla I'm in south shiverpeaks a lot.

I've only much the same to offer you from this front, though I've been usually fading the exhaustion from Obsi Flame and taking along one of the newer very fine Earth Elites, they are so very useful.
Dags, ObsiFlame, UnsteadyGround, Aftershock, W/M, Kinetic or AoE, EarthAttune
-or-
Dags, Shockwave, Earthquake, Aftershock, CrystalWave, Kinetic, AoE, Earth Attune
... or some type of variant on these. Glyph of Energy or any other Energy Storage elite makes much better sense here I know, but Shockwave, and Unsteady Ground are just so useful I'm content to just scream for a B/R when I need it.

Yes, exhaustion does stack.
I don't know how much exhaustion is given for each spell that has it.
Geomancers are awesome.

Wiki:
Exhaustion reduces the character's maximum energy. When Exhaustion occurs, the caster loses 10 maximum energy. The amount of maximum energy lost is shown at the right end of the energy bar (Default) as greyed out. Maximum energy is recovered at a rate of 1 point of energy every 3 seconds.
Exhaustion stacks. A character repeatedly casting exhaustion spells will repeatedly reduce their maximum energy, lower and lower each time. Exhaustion can lower maximum energy below zero. In this case, the deficit is regained at 1 point per 3 seconds before regaining positive maximum energy.

i wuz playn around a few days ago in the deep and found an extremely effective kd earth build. if u gots factions, go e/rt, and use sumthin like this
plant an earthbind spirit, then use dragon stomp/earthquake, cuz o spirit, the guy is down longer, dunno exact time. then use aftershock and wutever else u wanna do, then when he gets up again, use dragon stomp and hes down again. u can also use this fo nukers, as meteor and meteor shower, hydromancers, cuz o water trident, and aeromancers, cuz o shock, and lightnin surge. its very useful to piss ppl off in pvp too.

I still use my earth ele to farm occasionally. She is pretty much a "normal" earth E/Mo who stacks on enchantments and uses Ether Renewal for energy management. I think this would work okay in cooperative play except in places with lots of hexers. Maybe Essence Bond could be replaced with Rebirth. Anyway, here's the core build (an oldie but a goodie):
(1) Ether Renewal (E)
(2) Stone Daggers
(3) Aftershock
(4) Crystal Wave
(5) Aura of Restoration
(6) Armor of Earth
(7) Kinetic Armor
(8) Essence Bond
Earth Magic: 15 (12 + 3)
Energy Storage: 16 (12 + 3 +1)
Hitpoints: 410
Energy: 90
Equipment: Galigord's Rod, Galigord's Stone Scroll, Pryomancer armor* with superior runes of Earth Magic, Energy Storage and Vigor.
Someone asked me once how come I have an All-Seeing Eye (+1 Energy Storage) instead +1 Earth headpiece. Simply because I use different armor sets depending on whether I am an Earth Ele or a nuker. I didn't want to have to buy multiple Sup Vigor runes, so I put it in the headpiece and took one that would have a benefial effect regardless of my element.
