Default Tweaking my Ranger Build.

I recently made a Ranger in Cantha (I own prophecies too) and I moved her into Kryta for some more skills.

Luckly with my other chracter's I got a Zealous(added the mod) Platium Bow of Marksmanship. 15^50%

Anyway So farI have quite a bit of skills and working with it still. I'm also a lvl 15.

Lighting Reflexes
Throw Dirt
Troll Unguent
Power Shot
Sundering Attack
Read The Wind
Empty - (Still deciding on something maybe another prep or even a trap)
Rebirth/Resurrect/Sig (Rebirth for last source and Regular res in the middle of battle) Also Charm animal to lvl my pet later on and only with hench

Here's my Attributes
Beast - 2
Expertise - 9
Wilderness - 6
Marksmanship - 12 (8+4)

When I get more health as a I lvl I prolly buy an expertise major rune or a Wilderness. I doubt I want to do beast and go into the Trap route but atm I'm sticking to just marks.

I was thinking to put Concussion Shot in there as my interupt or just use distracting.

Anyway give me your thoughts. I don't have Barrage yet of course. And I'm experienced with the game so no real need to explain a lot. ^_^

Yes I would definitely add an interrupt - savage or distracting shot over concussion shot because of the extremly high energy cost of concussion. IMO a second preparation in the empty slot is useless as preparations do not stack. And if you wanna one bring a trap, I would bring dust trap and replace throw dirt by it. However, the 5 energy cost of throw dirt vs 25 for dust trap and your respective level in expertise and WS may make me go for throw dirt. But both skills work differently, so it also depends on how comfortable you are at using both.

PS - It sounds like Punishing Shot may be a nice addition to this build once you have capped it.

Powershot is honestly... not a good skill. I suggest you leave it out... just for starters.

concussions shot with only 9 expertise isn't the best of ideas. There goes half your energy in 1 shot, and if you miss...
Take distracting shot. I find it much more useful. I say distract instead of savage since with multiple 10 energy skills and only 9 expertise, that's 6 energy per each. So once again, you would be out of energy pretty fast in a battle.

And Reikai, power shot isn't a bad skill...when you're level 5. >.>

Well if you play pve a lot, you could try taking antidote signet. It's not really the best skill but if you have nothing else to put in, it's useful for removing blind/poison when stupid henchmen don't want to.

Rather than use power shot, see if you can get a copy of Sundering Shot. Or heck, even Hunter's Shot. You just don't get much out of Power shot, and so its best to get something different the moment you can.

Punishing shot will fit into what you have very nicely, I'd look into capping that soon.

Well I replaced power shot with a copy of sundering. I'm not sure if I really want to go through Tyria again just to get punishing shot though.

I also put Distracting shot in and added a trap (Barbed) for now until something better.. maybe get EoE for the Canthan missions and what not.

Yes I agree with rei. Your build is similar to mine when I just started GWing. Yours is too general a build. I think, too general you might not even know what you're doing even in PvE. Try to be a bit more focused. If you want traps, go traps all the way. Interrupt? Needler? Toucher? Beastmaster? All these are tested and proven builds for pve. Try to define what you want to do and how you want to contribute to a pve or pvp party.

Next thing, you can consider power leveling to lv18, then go capture an elite with lv20 henchies. I'm not very sure about Canthan elites, but for Prophecies, Snake Dance and Talus Chute has very popular elites that are reasonably easy to cap. More solid ones like BHA and Quick Shot will have to wait till you get to Perdition Rock.

Lastly, don't divide your attributes like this. As pointed out already, try to get 13 expertise at least. And since you've purchased a superior marksmanship rune, I suggest you be a marksman. 16 marks and 13 exp will be nice. You pump 3 attributes to another thing like wilderness or a secondary attribute. If you lack attribute points, do the attribute quests. Canthan ones are insanely easy compared to Prophecies ones. Drats. >.>

=P I already know most of the things you said Dyon. I've already beaten the game (factions) with a rit and then beat phrophecies over three times with my other characters.

I don't have most of the skills of course.. can't be full trapper when I only have two atm. Plus I'm tired of Tyria at this point atm. So I rather get more of my money's worth in Cantha.
