If you could charm Pre-Searing rabbits.... lets be honest everyone would have one.

Probably not.
Edit: A rezzing pet could introduce a serious inbalance between Factions and Prohecies owners, especially in PvP.

Aye, that is what I mean: I do not think phoenix can rez.
I think so because a rezzing pet could seriously influence (PvP) balance.

The only pet that has a special ability(correct me if I'm wrong) is the bear, and that's useless because it's not more powerful and takes too long to cast...whoever said Pheonix's can rez is an idiot, because if they could, I'd take mine everywhere.

I'd pick a..
Bunny! As soon as it's available! (if ever)..
But back to topic, I'd go with the spider,
simply because I hate birds big as that.
Spiked or not!

The bear has the "Brutal Mauling" animation which cuts down on attack rate, that is all. Pets don't have special skills.

If a pet is still low level (<10), you can train it yourself. Once a pet is at level 15, it wil be either Dire, Hearty or Elder. If none of these seem to apply, it's probably Elder, with no bonusses or cuts.
You basically train a pet to Dire by letting it do all the damage while it does not get hurt. Set yourself up defensively, with a shield & melee weapon that you do not meet req for, and bring pet attacks and protection. Then aggro some Mino's outside Ice Tooth Cave, let them attack you, and your pet attack them, and stay alive - when you die, so will your pet.
