i take all the aatxes seperately and u dont need ele resist for them, sv helps to take away savage slash but its not needed. The graspings, if u put sv on first wait for them to use disctracting blow, then cast SoJ, the sv should last long enough so that they cant use flurry. havent been all that successful, so if someone wants to test it out thatd be cool.
i run;

Essence Bond
Balthazars Spirit
Retribution
Protective Spirit
Spirit Bond
Shield oj/SS
Blessed Signet
Elemental Resistance

attributes are something like;
7 divine
12 prot
rest smiting or mixed with curses

dont really have problems, i just need to time the nightmares a bit better and ill have it soon. ;D for interrupts..you dont need SV, you just time your skills.

personally, for trolls i prefer SB monk (or SB/PS Monk, 605, call it w/e). its faster, easier, and the avicara dont kill me when i happen to get a lag. =P plus ill just farm some more of them for extra drops. o.o not as easy with 55 and the degen you can get. tho, for giants, i prefer 55, same counts for ice imps and golems =P

I suggest using life attunement there instead of the last skill in your skillbar (lost the name atm) to counter the conditions and degen in pvp, the health boost goes up to like 120

ummm WHY?

When I use spirit bond, I'll usually always have like -10 degen on me and I'm still at max health all the time because of all the mobs hitting me..

for some reason id put ele resistance in there, some people are plain weak and dont know how to get some good damage in :/ lol

then, on the other side, the eles own you

tho, funny, i wouldnt really want to use it. too boring :< and the noobs that wouldnt stop attacking me and commit suicide are way too funny and make me laugh myself to death. xD

This build works really well me and a friend have adapted it and modded it so we can 3 man FoW, 2 man UW,and Solo trolls all faster than any other build ive seen. Even full groups in FoW's case.

So pretty much every high level area, even with mesmers, is farmable.

Keep up the farming and hope it doesn't get nerfed.

So does anyone have a solo uw video? For some reason when i do it, the graspings kill me even when i have the elemental resistance on. also, whats a good way to defeat dying nightmares?

to defeat dying nightmares, either interrupt their spell, or wand them to death quickly

Ok, heres my solo uw build so far...

mo/me

prot spirit
spirit bond
sheild of judgement
elemental resistance
blessed signet
power spike
balthazars spirit
retribution

use power spike to interupt nightmares and then wand them once to kill them.
take it slow, because if you aggro more than 1 dying, you will die.

Say, what's the ideal build for this right now? Stats, armour/rune combination and the standard build of this? The General version of it. I would like to give it a try...

This is such an inexpensive build to make and play with :-)

I made a N/Mo version of this with around 465 health, using a white curses staff with an enchantments last 13% longer mod and a low level Hale Staff Head mod, together with AL15 armour.

Killing was done using SS and Retribution.

I did try other combinations, but found that this was the most efficient as Retribution will still cause damage if the trolls interupt SS when you try to recast it.

I actually had fun rounding up every troll in the cave just to see if the build could take them all in one go - which it can. I think I had 22 trolls hitting me and killing themselves LOL

I am going to try adding Mark of Pain to the build, but I suspect it will be less efficient as MoP causes the mobs to scatter. I am still going to give it a try though.

For Troll farming this build is much easier to play than a 55 build and you have a lot more margin for error.

I had a couple of tries at UW but the Nightmares got me after I killed the first few AAtaxa - that is not a fault of the build though as I can't get them right with a 55 build either LOL

Thanks for the inspiration to try it!

I believe that it's still 10e though for like 100 targets, hypothetically).

GL
Starburst is terrific and a regular on my 55 e/mo solo build since Factions arrived.
Guess I should consider taking a look at spirit bond for her as well

Can we(namely I) get a video of this in action? I don't really understand the concept of it. I mostly want to see one soloing UW or troll cave. I just want to see if its worth trying.

This build interests me, mainly because it has strengths that the 55 does not, and I believe with proper change, that one can adapt it to any 55 area.

I have 3 superior runes on my monk as of now, giving me about 255 HP with this build, I've heard health does not matter, but I wonder if this is to change and that we will all have to go about 600 HP at some point.

With my Shing Jea +energy armor, will there be points in which I will have trouble farming? I believe minotaurs actually did not hit me for enough damage some of the time, which I found odd.

Also, are my choice of runes good? Should I go with majors instead, and instead of Kephket's Refuge, go with a setup that should prove viable for higher HP?

I've farmed Minos, Jades, Trolls, and am about to try Grawls. Does anyone have any more suggestions with which to try this build? From some of the posts, I see that UW is possible, but that place has never been kind to me, and I feel I will only waste money and time going there. Is the 2-man way just as acceptable as it was previously?

Thank you for your answers.

Note, this build sucks if you have 600hp+, I mean TOTALLY sucks, because you have to put Spirit Bond up really high to heal yourself for a decent amount. The best way to run this is regular hp, or even lower than that. Me and a guildie did dual UW with it, he had 255 HP and we did the Lost Souls quest at the start of the run, with the Aatxes still alive, and pwned them. He tried it the first time with 700hp, and found that he wasn't getting healed enough and the Grasping Darknesses could kill him much too quickly.

Well if your relying on monk damage, more specifically retribution and/or holy wrath lower hp will lower those #s - it's a balancing act. I'm running a '405' monk right now (major smite/prot/divine, minor vig) and tossing on the health buff which allows more from retribution [and holy wrath when I play with the interesting bonettis defense move brought up by ubermancer].

If your not then yeah less is generally better and you dont necessarily need that high of a prot.
