Signets-Were they ever finally deemed worthy?
I remember trash talk about Keystone Signet being the absolute worst elite skill in the game. (that and signet of midnight)
But about a week or two before factions had come out a great number of people would reply to any discussion about keystone with an answer much like, "Once factions arrives Keystone will be very much worth using."
Here we are a day before the 3 month anniversary of Factions release with no use of keystone. Does anybody still think it can be worth it? Will it ever be used?

There was some builds based around Keystone Signet here on forum - just do some searching. Ofcourse they were more gimmick builds than anything else but some of them was also funny to try.
And I can think of MANY elites worse than Sig of Midnight - actually its pretty good skill.

I never saw anything wrong with signet of midnight, I solo farm most warrior greens with a build using this.
Keystone was supposed to work in response to signets that would actually be helpful to mesmers. Ive actually tried a combination of Keystone signet with mantra of signets and Unnatural signet, it works wonders^^

it will cost you an elite spot but it's free, has a 15 second duration and 15 second cooldown. i've always really liked sig of midnight.

Are we talking about Keystone Signet? Signet of Midnight? Or Signets in general?
Signet of Midnight is a good Signet. Mesmers have some nice interupt signets that have long recharge time. The ways to recharge them otherwise are stances, which could be used for defense, rather than recharging signets.

I also like this skill, but it needs some sort of minor buff imo

it would be nice if it caused two conditions. blind for 10 and cripple for 6 seconds would be pretty cool. even blind and dazed would be cool, something to cover up one of the conditions. that's asking a bit much i suppose. knockdown and 15 seconds of blind would be sweet. but any change for the better would make it a monster elite. can't really have that.
slow movement for 6 seconds and blind for 10. that's something
if it wasn't elite it would be widely used as it is.

I never said I thought sig of midnight was bad at all but you know there are so many people who talk about it being worthless.
The discussion is not on all signets it is on Keystone builds and if you ever found one worth using.

Signets are generally a bit crap... Sig of Midnight is great with Plague Touch *curses random RA/TA Mesmers* but things like Signet of Disenchantment just suck... Dunno why they nerfed Humilities radius either.

Signet of Disenchant is decent, seeing as how it removes Spellbreaker and Shadow Form, and Obsidian Flesh. Its drawback can be easily countered with focus swapping. Sig of Midnight is quite effective in PvE, with either Plague Sending or Epidemic (or both!).

SoM is definetly a good skill but ineptitude is like the same thing yet more worth it. Keystone signet has its uses but i still think people havent found the right build for it. Just like the -50 item, took a while for people to figure that out.

Slightly off topic, maybe, but I use Mantra of Inscriptions on my smite monk build and it's a lot of fun. Signet of Judgement, Bane Signet, Signet of Rage - lovely damage/knock down and all for no energy I'm hoping Nightfall brings some more Smite signets... I've hoping to have enough to choose from that I can bring Keystone Signet instead of Signet of Judgement.
And as for signets being worthy... have you not yet found the glory that is focus swap + Ether Signet?

I used SoM in my Ettins Farms before the Nerf as a Domination mesmer because I don't like the IW farm build.
Anyway, Signets is like other skill; A right put is always good than missing one. I mean, if you know how to use them properly, you will think they're useful, otherwise, you will think its useless or hard to use them. Like the Keystone Signet, if you know how to use this signet correctly, it will be useful.

And so can Chilblains and Well of Profane. Both having slightly more advantageous outcomes.

Signets can be very helpful and I do believe ther coming more popular however... I think they take a little too long to recharge sooo im not a big fan. Signet= too slow for somone with ADD (me) =P

Well has no side effect if i'm mistaken... it just requires a corpse. And if a target dies in a helpful place, that corpse could be ALOT of use in removing it.
Chilblains just requires you to be close, the 10seconds poison means absolutely nothing considering if you need healing a Mend Condition would suffice instead. That and as a curses necro Parasitic Bond should be spread around a fair bit for covering.
