There're a lot more useful skills for PvE than Broadhead Arrow, which targets only one enemy. In PvE, you want AoE stuff more, like Barrage or traps.

Well I think he's asking about using dazze skills in PvE. Generally I'd say no - I mean generally it works well but it's not worth sacrifying your elite and/or 25 energy for that.

2 exceptions:

I capted BHA in Boreas - I think I had a poison arrow + dual shot + kindle arrow build. That was pure ownage against the luxon bosses at the beginning and against the kraken.

Unwaking Waters: savage shot/distracting shot seem to take ages to reach Kunny and you're not likely to interupt him with those skills. But BHA or concussion shot are devastating. I actually noticed rangers may be the key to complete this mission (of course mesmers can do a great job as well). Every time I PUGed it with a competent ranger (aka knowing he gotta bring both something to daze and if possible a degen - poison arrow + concussion shot or BHA + apply poison) we easilly got masters. Without, we failed miserabily (PUGs generally dont get staying in the AoE of the -10 health degen eggs is not mandatory).

But again generally I'd say it's not worth it.

As much as I generally look down on BHA, I did find that it is the best elite to use in Unwaking Waters since Kuunavang requires 2 interupts to be interupted and it's very simple to keep dazed on him at all times by spamming BHA on him (/her?) as soon as it recharges.

I find that BHA is useful when you are shutting down bosses in small farming groups. If you have a party of 8 foes don't last very long generally. I just bought a silencing string so i can really put the hurt on. I used

RTW
BHA
distracting
Savage
Needling
Whirling
Trolls
Rez/throw dirt/lightning reflexes/sundering

They are pretty much shut down. I practiced this on the Master of Hexes on the training island (Great Temple of Bath) to get the timing down. He will kill you if you are not quick enough to stop his hexes. He is good interupt practice.

Hey, i did not read page 2 of this posting. I see someone esle uses the same build i just stated....great minds lol. Works though. Anyway I actaully use dwarven battle stance and/or warriors endurance/spinal shivers/icy weapon for my war sometimes - no popular - but my enemies hate it even more. The is indeed a difference between interupt and shutdown. Monks and mesmer require shutdown since interupts are too chancy with 1 sec spells. BHA + needling once half dead is a joy to behold.

I never use broad head as my elite for intereption, I think Punishing -> Savage -> Distracting -> Concussion works fine, does dazed, and i can have another interpt spell :|

I've found BHA pretty useful in PvE, actually. I frequently find myself in PUGs, and BHA can take advantage of the usual chaos. If I bring BHA, I also bring Apply Poison and Epidemic.

In a typical PUG, the warrior bolts into the enemy group and starts hacking. The enemy spellcasters move into position and start their casting. I find that BHA works better than Concussion in this situation, because I can inflict dazed immediately, and not wait until the caster gets to his longer cast spells. Also, if say, a necro, monk, and mesmer are standing close to eachother, I can select the central target, BHA (and poison) him, and hit Epidemic to inflict about 24 seconds (with a silencing string) of dazed on all three.* And if the monk or necro gets rid of a condition, it always seems to be the poison, in my experience, leaving them dazed. I can almost always get at least two guys this way (if I can't, I obviously don't waste energy on Epidemic). With the rest of the party (and minions, and pets, and spirits) attacking, these guys are generally shut down for the rest of their lives, leaving me to concentrate my active interrupting on the target of my choice.

Never mind that it lets your henchies / disorganized PUGs tear through every spellcasting boss they see.

A great spell for PvP? Uh, no. But for those of us who slum in PvE, it can be very useful, and hardly a waste of an elite.

*There's your AoE, Milias.
