Default Gather, Continual Channelers!

This isn't a conventional build post... I want to see everyone's take on the continual channeler (a true one, one that can cast constantly and infinitely). I'll post my own to start out with, but I really had difficultly choosing a secondary and a direction to go with the build.

Rt/x

Channeling - 16 (12 + 1 + 3)
Restoration - 13 (12 + 1)
x - Remainder

Halcyon Armor for energy, and a 20/20 Channeling Staff with a +5 energy mod. (Just in case your item spell doesn't go off)

Generous Was Tsungrai OR Tranquil Was Tanasen (e)
Caretaker's Charge (e) OR Essence Strike
Channeled Strike
Destruction
Gaze From Beyond
Spirit Boon Strike
Spirit Burn/Soothing Memories/Mend Body & Soul OR Arcane Echo/Serpent's Quickness
Flesh of My Flesh

TwT is only to be used in an area where you know you'll be often interrupted, and in that case, switch out Caretaker's Charge for Arcane Echo and Essence Strike (energy management can come from spamming ES under Arcane Echo/Serpent's Quickness).

Other than that, the build plays in the order it's written, except ALWAYS casting Charge whenever it recharges. I prefer Soothing Memories over Mend Body & Soul in areas not rampant in Conditions, as it costs less energy, though Mend has a shorter casting time, and a shorter recharge.

Serpent's Quickness can also be considered, to make Charge even more spammable, and make Destruction more mobile, even though its recharge is already respectable.

Post yours if you have them, otherwise, opinions/fixes plz

Just to clarify, before I start looking around and messing with things, do you mean a build that doesn't require making a spirit at all? One that can only cast lightening spells and never have to pause?
If so, there has to be a way I hopes.
I used to use a FC channeler with my Me/Rt, but it required a spirit.

I was using a continual rit a while ago, without needing to summon a spirit, cant remember the build im afraid, switched almost indefinitly to a full support heal.

How did you hack into GW to allow nine skills on your bar?

Spirit Boon Strike is worthless, IMO. Replace it with Channeled Strike since you are using ashes. Faster recharge, more damage, and the healing from SBS is really only useful if you or another rit in your party are using powerful spirits like Shelter or Union.

My current build:
Gaze from Beyond
Channeled Strike
Spirit Burn
Essence Strike
Destruction
<extra>, usually cap signet or Preservation
Generous Was Tsungrai
Flesh of My Flesh

I'm not liking this build for some pve, actually. I'm looking to create a mobile channeler using skills based off of weapon skills and ashes, instead of spirits. Too bad I'm too poor to buy the new NF skills

>_> I posted it a little bit late last night, it's fixed now, I intended on tacking it on to the optional spells for that 2nd to last slot, including spirit burn.

It doesn't bother me that I'm using a spirit for a continual channeler.

And I really like Gaze From Beyond, since destruction has a pretty short recharge anyway, I was considering removing Spirit Boon Strike (which is expensive... with a LONG recharge, and pretty meh damage), opinions on this?

I had a little time after work to test something on the target dummies.
It relies on a spirit, something I'm not to fond of, but that's all I got.

Communing 3+1
Restoration 12+2
Channeling 12+2+1

Anguished Was Lingwah
Caretaker's charge
Essence Strike
Spirit Burn
Renewing Surge
Soothing Memories
Generous Was Tsungrai
Flesh of My Flesh

Cast Anguished and drop it wherever you wish. Hold Generous until Anguished recharges, then recast Anguished. I was trying to have Anguished Spirit up as much as possible and also holding Anguished ashes at the same time as much as possible. That way you can get the benefit of a spirit and an item from just anguished, as well as being able to move and quickly drop anguished if the spirit dies to early.
Then you just spam away at the other channeling spells.
Try to use Soothing memories to heal youself and your teammates.
Leave Generous to use right before a soothing, for a beefy self spike heal. Don't drop generous unless you really need to heal yourself fast or unless your anguished is recharged.

It's probably not that great a build as it's using a low lvl spirit for the battery, but I found that having 2 item spells and a spirit that can be replaced super fast to work decent to meet the channeling energy return requirements more reliably. Plus an soothing to cast right after Generous, than dropping generous, really helps heal spike damage while only costing 7 energy.

I think Renewing Surge is a bad skill, sure the instant recharge is nice, but why would you want to continually spam this skill? It doesn't hit for much; it's like a flare spammer, it's just not worth the skill slot.

It's a decent pressure skill when combined with Caretaker's Charge. Otherwise... I don't really know.

To be totally honest I'm not going to use a continual channeler build.
I'd prefer to branch out and be able to play several roles well enough to get by.
I tried making a continual channeler build, but the dps is only moderate and I feel like I need to swap a few skills to be able to contribute more to the group in a more varied build.
I gave it a shot at least.

Useful in solo PvE with heroway, but otherwise I don't bother. Spirit summoning or restorationalist is more helpful to a group.

By the way, you can't have a 20/20 staff with both +5 energy mods on it. Your Hale and Hearty mod would fit where the 20% HCT bonus already is.
