1) I dont even consider AB pvp skill level
2) most class I play in pvp is monk
3) A monk cant do anything on his own unless you are running SOMW spike which is retarded build anyway
4) I dont farm
5) Show me a picture of you winning Halls or a GvG match using monks only and non retarded build.

You want my arguments why Monks are the most important class of them all? Here is one,

YOU
DONT
SURVIVE
WIHTOUT
HEALING

Is that hard enough to see? any other class CAN be replaced in a balanced team, but the monks CANT. (unless as you saw the post up ahead you think IWAY or B-spike is ZOMGZOFRIKKINGOODELITEAZSOME!!!) Do you think any top-100 Guild plays without Monks? No. Do you think any top-100 Guild plays without any other class? Yes. Any other class is REPLACEABLE but NOT Monks.

kthxbie

Actually monks can be replaced with skilled rits and some healing paragons.

Will they be concidered better than monks? No. But they can get the job done.

It's infentile arogant people that think monks are absolutly supreme and un-replacable that lead many to have low if any respect for monks and choose heros/hench over live people.

I've played with a lot of good monk and ive beaten each chapter with hench monks the only big diffence ive noticed was one talks and the other doesn't

1) i believe the context of the past few posts regarding monk primaries' importance was pvp, not pve where any and all classes are generally immaterial...

2) infantile, arrogant, absolutely, irreplaceable, difference. geez kid...

Wow, good thing the all-knowing, all-seeing Shizuka showed up to set us straight. By the way, has anyone seen my arguments? I seem to have misplaced them.

Yes I really am a terrible speller. Worst yet is that I am a scientist, if its not a chemical formula or a mathamatical equation I just don't pay enough attention to it. Thanks for the corrections.(truely wish I was still a kid )

As to pvp monking, yes it is quite diffent from pve. However if you join a pvp pug team you really have to expect that somebody there is going to be trying this for the first time or testing out a new build that might fail terribly.

Most hard core vetren pvpers are either in a pvp guild or play with freinds that they know and trust.

Casual pvp players, like myself, tend to join pugs and take it much less seriously. When the "Pros" venture into the random arenas they are mostly just killing time and should lighten up on those just having a little fun.

This whole thread was about people not respecting monks. What I've learned here is that many different attitudes, styles and personalities exist throughout the entire world of GW. It is unavoidable that some of these will lead to conflicts and tension.

Respect its self is an abstract concept that changes depending on your point of view. The OP felt that the comments made to her were disrispectfull, but those making them may have just ment it in good fun or were totaly jerks...hard to tell when your just reading a printed message on a screen.

Without body language and vocal inflection its very hard to tell what is meant just by reading the words. The comments in this thread alone could be miss read and taken as disrespectfull whether or not they were intended as such.

In the end this is just a game. Relax, sit back and enjoy it!

Rightly said. I started a Monk a couple or so months back, always wanted to play one. I blazed through Cantha and got about halfway, when it began to get eventful. A team I was in failed, and I got all the bad press "Omg!! You suck n0ob!". When they were too far out for me to heal them.

But I know lots of Monks get bad press, just grin and bare it though. There's always going to be idiots in every walk of life, and virtual..., you just have to perservere (spelling?).

When in a PUG, a Monk is percieved by the masses to be as good as the guys in front of him are. If your team has some strong players that make a Monk's job easy, people will praise the Monk even if he's a retarded Orison spammer. If the players are incompetent, run off, take a million damage and die, then you, as a Monk, are a bad player. It's the judgements passed by people who have no business passing judgement that make me patently dislike PUGs.

Peace,
-CxE
