Lf Good Fire Ele Build
im looking for some good builds for PvP and PvE for my Fire Ele. He is lvl 20 and has liek 70 skill points. Im looking for some good builds to stick with. Right now im running this really random nuker build. i have never really taken the time to stop and think about a good build. Here is my thrown together build:
Wayward Wand
Tarlok's flagon
Some thing that goes around my head ( i bought it in Vasburg Armory)(im on my laptop and im too lazy to check everything)
Flare
Fireball
Fire Storm
Star Burst
Ward from Melee
Meteor (not meteor storm)
Fire attunement
Some other skill i dunt use much or sumthin.
Basically, i just pick a target and fire away.
I am accepting all help and all builds cause clearly i need it.

Well, a pretty standard build right now is the searing flames ele which will work in pve and pvp (is the primary pvp purpose ra/ta or something else like gvg or ha?) which looks something like
1 Searing Flames {E}
2 Glowing Gaze
3 Liquid Flame
4 Met Shower
5 Glyph of Sac
6 Fire Attunement
7 Some utility or extra damage depending on 2ndary and whether its pvp (in which case team build) or pve.
8 Res Sig
Basically you're spamming searing/glowing with the occasional liquid flame and well placed met shower. Keep your attunement up and your energy should be decent.
For PvP a blind spammer is popular, something like
Blinding Surge {E}
Lightning Orb
Lightning Strike
Gale
Air Attunement
Glyph of Lesser
Ageis/breeze/hp/additional damage
Res
some rough sketches to mess around with

flare makes me cry.
If you're playing fire, there are two ways to go: one, bring some utility like ward against melee or heal party or aegis, and play it as a proactive support character.
Or, spam searing flames. I usually opt for this choice in pve.

Yeah, searing really makes a lot of the bar redundant. Met shower and liquid are nice when they come up, but basically you just mindlessly use searing glowing and kill everything. That said there is an extra slot on the bar, you don't need any additional damage given the spammability of searing, and you've got liquid and met shower when needed. So you might as well toss in some utility of some kind. A draw, a ward, an ageis, whatever. It won't throw u off too much to cast it every so often.

the SF build works even better if you tack in Immolate
Immolate -> Glowing Gaze -> Searing Flames
as long as you keep fire attunement up and running you'll have 0 energy issues even with the occasional liquid flame. You'll get the energy return of GG plus you won't waste time using SF to just light them on fire

if you want to use immolate with SF, use MoR will be much better, MoR--> Glowing Gaze --> SF

Come on guys, there are better alternatives then using SF...It's hard to cap and when you finally got it you need at least one more spell to keep energy high. I never saw the point in using SF anyway...Currently I'm using:
1: Liquid Flame
2: Fireball
3: Rodgort's Invocation
4: Glowing Gaze
5: Mark Of Rodgort
6: Conjure Flame
7: Fire Attunement
8: Elemental Attunement
Yes, I know I'm not using a res! I think it's pretty clear how the build works...Ele att-->Fire Att-->(Conjure Flame-->, not necesairy)Mark of Rodgort-->AoE spell/attack with wand-->Glowing Gaze-->AoE spell/attack with wand--> etc.
And there's no possibility to cap SF in Prophecies...
Too bad in PvE hardly any enemy is using backfire, the spamming SF would be over pretty quick then, it'd kill you within half a minute

Well, you dont need to have got that far to cap it - you only need to complete one mission as a foreign character and you can go straight out and get it - it's probably a 20-30 minute walk to it. ie, Korr, Living Flame in Turai's Procession.

The part I bolded is just silly. I've capped it with mainly human players without problem, and helped cap it in a mainly heroes party with a jog or two back from the rez shrine after party wipes. (I tend to get careless in PvE in AI-heavy groups, running in spells blazing first and only figuring out more careful tactics after I've learned what can go wrong in a particular area. )
Your build also has more trouble against enchantment stripping and interrupts than a SF build does. Because of recharge issues, one gets more AoE hits per minute in a SF build than in yours. Finally, your AoE is either adjacent-only or conditional, while SF hits more targets on average..

If you're running Dual Attunements, why even bother using Glowing Gaze? Your energy barely drops anyways.

Immolate
Fireball
Liquid Flame
Glowing Glaze
Meteor Shower
Phoenix
Elemental Attunement
(Res)
Pretty standard build that will put out some decent AoE and knockdowns with meteor shower. It's pretty versatile, and you can drop a lot of the skills for location specific ones as needed.
Throwing Arcane Echo or a glyph is recommended if you like to cast meteor shower. Personally I don't use it much and would rather have the skill slot used for something else.
Anyway, there's a nice alternative to an SF build ;-). If however, you do want to play around with SF, Winstar's build looks good - but take Mark of Rodgort too.

I capped Searing Flames - didn't realise how close it was..... i did it with hench and heroes, died once and a quick trip from rez shrine and got it.
My build for PvE (Mainly FoW) now is - Fire Attunement, Arcane Echo, Searing Flames, Glowing Gaze, Meteor Shower, Glyph of Lesser Energy, Energy Tap.
It works pretty good cos it saves the necro from constantly doing BR and my energy tends to stay above 40 minimum (95 maximum).
I tend to change a few things for PvP such as Glyph of Sacrifice, Auro of Restoration, Res Sig etc etc

I hate the fact that everyone and his dog is now running SF. I hate the fact that if I am an ele in a group and I dont run SF I am called a noob (yes, I do have SF). I hate the fact that SF is so easy to cap. I hate the fact that it is the best PvE elite out there.
Obviously I have a huge problem with SF. My problem with SF is not that it is so good... My problem is that the rest of the elites kinda suck.
So yeah, if you want to run a cookie cutter do what everyone else does and run SF. I am sure the PUG's will love you.
EDIT: And no, I cant recommend a better build out there because SF dominates at the moment. Sad aint it?

#7: Arcane Echo and copy Gaze, great if you have any energy issues.
I replaced Glyph of Sac with Elemental Power to boost dmg up a tad, works better for me personally.
I haven't used Liquid Flame once since i have 2 gazes alot of the time, any suggestions for replacing that?
I am using an Exuro's Will until I can get something better again looking for suggestions. Mostly looking to get through NF PvE mode and get to DoA and run it w/ a group so take that into consideration.
Thanks,
-Durik
