Default Renewing Surge Spammer

I have been playing this build in PvE and Ft. Aspenwood for a week now and am pretty happy with the results. Any feedback would be appreciated whether positive or negative.

This is a damage dealing build that relies on a healer but with this skill set I can usually stand right next to the healer out of harm's way.
Armor: Any end-game Ritualist Armor

Weapons: 20/20 is helpful but not necessary

Secondary Profession: I'm currently running Elementalist for Glyph of lesser energy but I don't think it's critical either.

Attributes:
Spawning Power: 13 (12+1)
Channeling Magic: 16 (12 + 1 + 3)

Skill Set:
1) Glyph of Lesser Energy (Keeps the blue bar full)
2) Empowerment (Buff for Item Holders, need it for AWS)
3) Attuned was Songkai {E} (Item spell, I would recommend swapping to no weapons before activating to avoid the energy hit)
4) Renewing Surge (Holding the Songkai Item it recharges instantly, it hits for 60+ dmg every second on the 60AL dummies)
5) Channeled Strike (Get the bonus for item holding does 110dmg every 5 seconds to 60al dummies)
6) Wailing Weapon (Help out a Ranger or Warrior with an 11 second interrupt every hit)
7) OPEN (I'm capping elites so its usually a cap sig) or, Antidote Sig from Ranger would help the healer in the group.
8) Res Sig or FOMF

Build is fairly easy to use. Right before aggro cast G.O.L.E then Empowerment then AWS. Pick a target and hit them with Surge every second using the instant recharge.

When you need a big spike, Channeled strike then back to Surge. You will not even drop below 25 energy with AWS up and the buff from Empowerment gives you the extra 10 energy even though you have no weapon.

Keep Wailing Weapon on your Ranger or Warrior for the interrupt and enjoy zapping down spellcasters quickly.

In 10 seconds on a 60al Dummy this was the damage output: The 110 is Channelled Strike and the 63 is surge)

(110+63+63+63+63+63+110+63+63+63) = 724 dmg

Again, any feedback is appreciated.

[wiki]Flare[/wiki]

I always thought the latter would be better, since you don't have to devote a build to it. Even then.. flare drains energy. This is where it's at. [wiki]Conjure Lightning[/wiki]
Dunno. It seems to me there isn't much this build can do that an elementalist can't do extremely easily. Wailing Weapon isn't Spawning Power, there's no reason you couldn't just give this role to the elementalist.

I don't see any problems with this, but once you get Caretaker's Charge you could possibly be much happier.

There's a reason why people say flare spammers suck.
