Smite Monk PvE build ???
Okay here it is this morning i was playing with my monk (2mil xp ) and got really tired of doing the same thing over and over as a healer and it never being good enough for some people . So just for fun i tried a smite monk .... it was the most fun i have had in guild wars in awhile. And it completely owned in elona
all i had was 12 in smite and rest in divine and 5 skills ..... soj/ balths aura / banish and bane sig and res of course
so here is the question does anyone have any good pve smite monk builds
Note** I know i will never find a group as a smite monk outside of HA so its just for when im with heros and henchies and playing around

I believe smite builds work great versus undead creatures and therefor the sulfurous wastes...
I'm not a big fan of smiting builds, but it is imo a good way to train your hero monks while being a monk yourself as well (because 4 monks is a bit of overkill :P)
I really like a signet based smiting build with SoJ (SIGNET of Judgement, not a fan of SHIELD of Judgement for pve, nor for pvp, just for farming imo) and then using mantra of inscriptions to speed up the regeneration (which should be about 12 seconds). Then using other skills such as Bane Signet and perhaps Signet of Rage (that is if u face alot of warriors and/or adrenaline paragon) and Signet of Mystic Wrath (that is if u run an enchantment intensive team build)
The big advantage of this type of build is that it gives u all the energy to do other things, u could for instance keep up to 4 Holy Wrath enchantments on your party members or perhaps 4 Strength of Honor enchantments (this last one would mean ~+40 dmg per 2 seconds when your allies attack and this could be even more when used on barragers or dervishes)
Of course there are many builds, but for pve I like a fast regenerating skill (like these signets with mantra of signets) and preferably that there always is a skill ready to be cast (one out of 3-4 signets usually)
Other skills worth mentioning are Smite Hex and Reversal of Damage as they support your team. Puting these skills on your bar would mean that u can not cast 4 of those maintained enchantments, so if u would chose for this...u should seek out ballance (like 2 maintained enchantments)
Lots of combinations are possible, right now I'm testing and tweaking a build with the above skills. I do however think that it will own vs undead but versus others it won't be that good, better bring an elementalist then :>

been smiting my monk through the nightfall campaign using a mostly smiting/prot build
[skill]reversal of fortune[/skill][skill]reversal of damage[/skill][skill]smite hex[/skill][skill]signet of judgment[/skill][skill]bane signet[/skill][skill]channeling[/skill][skill]zealot's fire[/skill] + cap sig, judge's insight, res (rarely), whatever really.
been workin' alright so far. thinking i'll have to make some large changes once i get out of vabbi and into the more difficult areas...

Smiting can be useful when playing solo with heroes/henchies. Since I play a monk, I have Talkora set as an anti-pressure healer (I have spike heals) and Dunkoro set for smiting. Here's the build I usually use for him:
Smiting 14 (12+1+1)
Inspiration 12
Divine Favor 4 (3+1)
Signet of Judgement {E}
Bane Signet
Reversal of Damage
Spear of Light
Smite Hex
Leech Signet
Mantra of Inscriptions
Resurrection Chant

This is what I use (I've been a smiting monk only once in a PUG - we had 3 or 4 Monks in our caping group).
Spear Of Light
Signet of Rage/Mend Ailment
Smite
Signet of Judgement (e)
Banish
Bane Signet
Watchful Spirit
Rebirth
Smite Prayers: 12 + 1
Divine Favor: 12 + 1 + 1
Protection Prayers: 3 + 1
I find this works well with henchies or if I'm in a PUG with too many monks

I wanna use Signet of Mystic Wrath.. except I want Mesmer secondary for Mantra of Inscriptions... and well -.- there's not much enchants that can be placed on me that really helps with smiting -.-

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Arcane_Echo
soo
1)arcane echo
2)ray of judgement (220 spike)
3)reversal of damage
4)signet of mystic wrath
5)smite attack of choice
6) iilusion of weakness/auspicious incantation/channeling
7)self heal (healing breeze?)
8)res
something like that may work, but you need 2 enchantments on you for it tobe worth replacing bane signet
plus the down time would be pretty nasty :/

Now if you can spam 130 damage every 12~ or so seconds for no energy cost =P
I wish it was maintained enchants >< Then you can throw stuff like Strength of Honor on your frontlines =P

Smiting: 16
Inspiriation: 12
Protection: 3
Word of Censure (Elite)
Smite
Banish
Spear of Light
Physical/Elemental Resistance or Reversal of Damage
Power Drain
Drain Enchantment
Rebirth
I'll use this in PvE. I will generally hang around for a few moments and then swoop in and nail one target hard. Then to regen the used energy I'll drain enchant or interrupt someone's spell. By the time that is done, my skills are recharged and ready to use again.

I always use this build in PvE. Smite on melee people and you can do lot of dmg!

I haven't tried going smiting a lot but I would definitely recommend having Banish and Bane Signet as your two main spells. Stay away from energy-draining enchantments as much as possible. Maybe it's just me but I'd also have a few points in Healing just in case.
Overall, yes smiting is great fun.
