Default Order of operations

To all of you who have played a minion bomber before:
What order do you like to use your skills in? I'm playing a primary necro bomber right now, and I have to say that it sure seems tedious. I thought regular MMs dragged a party down, but oh boy. This seems even worse. Sure, I can pretty much blow the next mob to bits, but it's so long between fights that I don't feel it's worth it.
I've tried a couple different ways.. pretend we're starting with 0 minions.

-deathly swarm
-when first corpse drops, use animate bone minions
-death nova on 1
-taste of death
-death nova on other
-taste
-putrid
-repeat

At the end of the battle, I'll have 0-3 minions to help with the next one.
I've also tried raising as many minions as possible, putting death nova on them, and then spamming taste of death/putrid in the next battle. This obviously takes the longest preparation time, and gives the fastest results. What do you all do? One of these strategies, or something else entirely?

One word: Heroes

Minion bombing is wretched, just wretched, to do as a player. But the AI on a necro hero handles it well.

Animate Bone Minions
Jagged Bones
Death Nova
Putrid Explosion (only if there is no other MM in party)
