Axe vampire build (PvE)
Allright, here's a build i've been playing with for some time because i wanted to have a change over the classical warrior builds.
The point was to use a W/N, with high level in one necro attribute. This is by no mean an uber build, but it works okay and can apply different kind of pressures/disruption. the necro part adds some versatility.
Equipment :
- I go for dreadnought's, energy pool is not an issue.
- 15^50 zealous axe of fortitude.
- +45 hp while enchanted req 9 str shield.
The skills :
- Life transfer [E]
- Dismember
- Executionner's strike
- Flail
- *Optionnal*
- Distracting blow
- Blood renewal
- Rez signet
the *Optionnal* slot is very open and depends on what you favor :
- Penetrating blow for additional damage
- Rush for a speed boost
- Plague touch for condition removal/condition pressure.
Attributes (not optimized since i'm using only one rune) :
- 13 axe (10 + 3)
- 12 blood
- 9 str (8 + 1)
How does it work :
Staying alive :
- Blood renewal grants a +5 energy regen and heals for a nice 160 hp when it ends or is removed. The main drawback is that using this skill at low health can result in suicide.
Try to use it before engaging ennemies, and when you can in the middle of the battle, it's a ncie protection against condition or low HP degen spells.
Dealing straightforward damage :
- Your only 2 axe attacks are dismember + executioner's strike. It's good, but has less damage outpout than other axe warrior with elite axe attacks.
Applying pressure :
- The axe spike stated above is an ok pressure, but other warriors can do it better.
- On the other hand you can apply a degen pressure of -7 for a nice amount of time (11 seconds). Can be devastating on ennemies that can't remove hex.
- Interrupts are done via the distracting blow skill. It's AoE, is easy to use and has a low recharge. One of my fav skill.
Tanking :
- You can sustain a good deal of damage by using simultaneously blood renewal and life transfer. This combo is extremely good at handling degen (by hexes or conditions).
That's about it actually, It's not uber but i find it fun to use
Any help appreciated to make it better ^^

LT is a bad elite in a normal necro builds but on a warrior its even worse. 7 degen is nothing compared to what you could replace it with (especially with a warriors energy you wouldnt be using it often). blood renewal isnt the best idea on a tank plus it will add to your energy problems.

That's what the zelous mod is for. under IAS it's like a warrior with 3 energy pips of regen.

Yeah but the point is, your now stuck with a zealous mod on your axe lowering dmg, just to fuel two skills that have better alternatives. If your going to be taking deffensive skills take a heal (heal sig would be a good choice) and then damage prevention rather than a bunch of healing. Leave the actual healing to your monks.
Renewal with anything except a shockingly bad monk is pointless as they will heal you as soon as your health drops making any gain from it void.
As for using LT for dmg well for an elite you can get much better ones that are in the axe and str line meaning you dont have to waste points in blood.

Firstly, Zealous FTW! secondly, I have to agree Life transfer is sucky as you can only use it every 30 seconds so in PvE thats like once an encounter, but nice idea

You are wasting your potential as a warrior, by trying to do as many things as possible. if you focus on dealing damage with a few skills from the necro line (preferably the ones that martialis pointed out), instead of healing, damaging, interrupting, go for just one (probably damage, if this is a PvP build. in PvE, a warrior does not make a great interrupter, so healing OR damaging) you'll be alot more effective.

oh oh oh tell you what is fun if your not using too much energy skills already: Unholy Feast, not only a great name but a fun heal too, and with a zealous mod you should be a ble to deal with the costs.

Yeah apparently lol
I'm trying a curse version of it with MoP and it's going better than the blood build.
