30k an hour WAS possible before Nerf. I was farming elonas in under 2 mins, that included loading, and selling everything too. now it takes about 4 mins. 15k an hour is not worth it i think.

It took me 2 and a half months to get my fow :S,
At first I was the SS necro or the 55 hp monk old skool style.
After ppl started to use Spirit Bond more and more I was a smiter or a Spirit Bonder.
After noobs started to say SB is nerfed I went and added one skill to the build and it worked even better and got the rest of the ecto.
Bought it, was happy, still cant understand why some one pays 45$ for game then gives 50$ for ecto shards gold off ebey to buy armor THAT DOES NOTHING BUT LOOKS NICER(imo).

Ok 30k/hour might be a stretch for some people but definetly not impossible. For instance:
Farming Greens- If you farm for an hour and then sell for an hour you can get around 60k(more or less dependin on luck with drops) witch is about 30k per hour.
Rune Farming- In kryta there are numerous places to farm runes. In one hour you can get around 20+ runes(more or less)+weapon mods+money drops. Now this might not always get you 20k an hour. One day the runes will be bad and you'll make like 10k, another day you get sup. runes that are expensive and make 30k.
Chest Running- It might take you 20 hours of chest running to get that perfect wep that sell for a ton. Lets say it sells for 200k. That 20k+ALL OTHER DROPS per hour.
Running- Ask people in guildwars how they got FoW. I bet half of them will say running. Their are plenty of running builds that make you at least 30k per hour. Droks runs for intsance. you charge 5-10k. Thats 30-50k depending what you charge in around an hour.(More or less depending on how long it takes to form group)
Mission Running-This is another great way to get money. If your smart and find a mission that has a high demand, you could make a good profit there. Lets say you run Consulate Docks. Youll have no trouble gettting a group in under 5 min. Each run is about 20min(more if your not as good). An average charge is 2k. Thats 30k in a little more than an hour. Plus there are many other missions out there to be ran, for maybe a bigger profit.
There are plenty of other places to run and farm that could be even better than what I said.
Do not think 30k per hour is impossible.

i have farmed all the ectos and shards to myself
i did UW with ss/sv first - but i get tired of scammer/stupid 55hp monks - so i made a farming monk for myself to do UW - and i did Fow with my warrior
It didnt took me 2 months to gather the 120 ecto and 120 shard, and to make a lvl 20 ascended farming monk in prophecies - so its not that hard, to get the ingredients for a complett set...the funny thing is, that it took me 3 weeks, to do the quests in fow, to get the armor :P

On my ranger I could get an utterly insane amount of shards in a day farming FoW forest. I think I got like 14 shards in a few hours or so...If you're on european servers it's pretty easy to just farm the shards/ecto...then farm more for the 75k or so that you need to pay the crafter. Once you have your shards just switch to a Rt/Me VwK soloer or another fast smite runner to get your ectos.

So powerfarming spots and save up for a long time.......Guess I'll have to make a ritualist to farm UW (it can farm other things too) Cetainly stone scale, vermin, grawl, wardens, trolls, hydras, and minos wont pay for FoW (probably could but all those mobs barely drop 1-1.5k, which means many many many runs to pay for FoW) Oh well I guess I should start my 1 billion hours farming for FoW =]

You can get FoW in a week by buying/selling for profit.

The first time I quit GW I gave away all of my items,... I came back with NOTHING. I traded some Diablo II SoJs for about 100k, and by the end of the week I had 1000k buy/selling.

if you build up your cash reserves up to around 700k-1 million, you can easily trade high end items and make plenty of money. Build up your contacts and you'll eventually have people coming to you to broker items.
With my list of buyers and sellers right now, I make roughly 300-500k a day and I only have to spend the time to make money when my buyers and sellers come online to trade.

Most people who build up 700k - 1 mil in cash reserves don't need to powertrade to get FoW...

Am I the only one who bought his fow armor by running ?
I was a guaranteed Droknar runner before the nerf. So that makes 15k in 20 minutes, and 45k in an hour (add in the tips for another 3-5k). When I found out that I was making good money with that business, I decided to buy fow, it was I think october last year.
So I made a schedule. I'm no nerd who has no life but GW so I didn't abuse the running business. Decided to run 4 times everyday, 2 in the morning 2 in the evening. With this schedule , adding in the extra runs, extra drops, time spent gaming other than running, I menaged to build the cash to buy the armor in 2 months roughly.
I know that u don't wanna hear a nerfed solution. But if you grind a good running character you can still win good amounts of cash on the routes still available to running. Say Warcamp -> Citadel runs 2k each 7-10 minute run. 7 people makes 14k which is absolutely great income. Or if that's too hard for you, go make Elona Reach runs, run the mission for 2k each, again 7-10 minute run for 10k.
That's serious profit if u set it into the right schedule.

That's true, but to do so you'll have to make some sort of money reserve to get going, which means a good number of runs off the nerfed mobs i farm lol. Then of course I'll have to take that class Powertrading 101 =]

A friend of mine got 2 sets of FoW armor after about 6 months of play (Although, admittedly, he played about 5 hours a day every day). He did mostly PvP of the HoH variety.

Personaly i farmed UW and FOW before the big farm nerf.
(monk / necro duo and spider runs.)
got like 20 ecto and 40 shards of it and some lucky drops in there.
But the most i earned by farming greens. Its easy and normaly i get at least 3drops each hour.
when factions just started i sold Sskai swords for 30k - 40k, so i made like 90k in one hour.
And i farmed a lot of other greenies too.
Although prices dropped really quick, i was able to make a lot of money in a few days, and it stayed a nice way for me to make money untill Anet decided to give us a +3 drop rate weekend.
anyway farming something new is probably the best way to earn money.
Cuz many people always want the newest stuff.
trading too, but you will need some money to start with +/- 300k
