Default FoW Armor, how to get it?

I got GuildWars since the beginning, have bought Factions and Nightfall as well, and still enjoy playing it. Now there is something what's still bothering me, how are people able to buy FoW armor?

Since the beginning of this year I started to waste as less money as I could and get enough for my Ritualist FoW armor. Right now I have 187k, 3 ecto's, 4 Obsidian shards and 1 ruby, well this is my total value I have towards FoW armor.

My question is, how are people being able to actually buy 2 times a FoW armor on there account? I play 3 days a week 2/3 hours for fun, and that's all I can play, but it takes me ages. I wonder how I can improve my way of getting more money for my FoW armor. I already farm a few places which are: UW (ecto's en sell another drops, average value a run 4k 30 min), Augury Rock around Kepkhet (farm there around 3k 20 min + 1 or 2 greens sometimes), Temple of the Ages (farm undead, nightmares, 2/3k a run 20 min)
I wonder if someone can help me giving some tips to get faster towards my FoW armor, my goal was to get it this year, but it seams I can't find a good way of making enough money to buy it.

I read very ofthen this farming thread as well guides, but most of them are out dated or just don't make enough money. I heard people getting 10 in 30min or 50k in 1.5 hour, I wonder how they do that. I also tried selling items and get the prices from this forum, but it's a pain in the ass to sell things. My last point which I think could be something nice it to do Chest runs, but then I have to sell golds to people which takes ages.

Anyways I would be pleased if someone could help me a little on how to get enough money for FoW armor.

I know for a fact that my old guild leader used ebay to get his ectos / shards. You can get it just by investing time, or proposing to your guild what I've done: You have your guild get FoW armor for your core gvg team, then expand to the rest of the guild (basically the 8 of you farm when you can to get FoW...1 - 2 runs in UW and you already have a piece of armor). I've seen people do it before (and it worked), but a lot of people with FoW armor use ebay.

Just keep farming, l managed to farm up to 90 shards and 25ectos just by doing some fow or UW runs everyday, or do some power trading once in awhile, just dont give in to ebay!

Or maybe even easier, buy low sell high with ectos in mass quantities.

The Rt/Me build still works for UW solos, albeit it takes a few minutes longer. It still is a viable build to accumulate ectos. It took about 4 days to build my Rt/Me from scratch, to get the skills and necessary equipment. After the 1st month of UW farming, I had maybe 120 ecto.

I dislike when people say that a lot of people with FoW armor use e bay. How do they know?

Here's how I got my set...

I solo'd FoW with my necro... only as far as i can get. over and over. Kept all the shard drops. sometime more than 4 shards a run (ofcourse sometimes none)

I solo'd Uw with my Vwk Rit... full smite run = 1-3 ectos (ofcourse sometimes none). I kept all the ecto drops.

I found an easy green that i can solo... over and over... sell the green for the money, materials and buy shards and ectos with the extra cash...

and I do play more than you do...

If you go EBAY stop playing guildwars, because since you bought money for armor on ebay why stop there go, buy someone to play guildwars for you too...

Theres nothing more satisfying than getting your own set of HARD earned FOW armor... I do empasize the hard part.

My Necro got her birthday present (mini jade armor) almost the same time i completed here FOW armor... so that should give you an idea how long it took.

(keep the black dye drops also.... with all this farming I was able to self dye my fow armor with black dye too)

-------------------

On another note... If you are able to find a green that sells for a lot then you will get your fow faster (key word is faster not easily)... for example i used to farm and sell the stonereaper back when it used to sell for 40k ea. He dropped so often that ur storage would be full. imagine selling 3-4 of these a session... another example used to be ghials staff back when it used to sell for 80k...

So Find a green in elona tha YOU can solo easily.... Keep doing this over and over for an hour... then spend the next hour selling, jumping from outpost to outpost. (patience is key, do not lower your price just because nobody bought in the last 2 mins,if nobody buys jump to another outpost or dist, or heck sell it tomorrow)

Fow armor really takes time to get, it was meant to...

One big tip:

Dont change from build to build! Try different builds untill you get one you like. Then stay with that build and dont switch between builds.
I used to switch from build to build hopelessly, not making any money.

My advice- stick with a build and farm it for a set time every week.

If you farm for 4 hours(more or less) every week, you can make a lot of money. You can easily find a build that get you at least 30k/hour.

4X30= 120k in just one week!!!!!
120X4= 480k in a month!!
2X480k= 960k!!!!

Only 2-3 months of farming and you got urself FoW armor.

Personally though, i dont see why everyone wants FoW armor. It costs so muh for what? looks? for someone to say "nice armor"? Id save my money and use it to enjoy game and have fun!

Another thing- Luck can give you FoW armor
~If you happen to be lucky and get that perfect drop with rare skin that sells for a mil- BAM right there from a single drop is FoW armor.

So if you really want FoW armor just pick a build and farm it for a set period of time each week.

Before you know it youll have FoW armor.(If that really what you want.)

Trading and chest runs are probably the best methods now, farming is a bit more annoying since they AI scatter. Just don't expect to make money instantly - unless you see an item that you know can make profit from for sale.

Also, it can be quite hard to lose money from chest runs. Say you buy 100 desolation keys - thats 60k gone. However if you manage to sell everyone of those items for 1k (doesn't sound much), you have already made a 40k profit, some will only be worth selling to merchant, some will have upgrades you can sell and there is of course the chance that you can get an Elemental Sword or something that will put you into profit from just 1 item out of the 100. If you don't like selling items in game just make a thread here, if your prices are right, they will sell, and without all of the in-game trade annoyance

Powertrading is one of the most effective ways to get it from what I hear. I have many friends within the game that max out their storage bank in about a week or so by powertrading for a few hours each day.

ppppffff......FoW is nothing.

I'm saving for 3 tormentor weapons with no luck getting a group or guild for DoA.

With the price of gemstones its about 2.5 mil per weapon.

You could do a lot of Heroes' Ascent and try to win HoH. If you're lucky you could get a Req 9 15^50 Crystalline like my guildie -.- 5 mill right there, enough for FoW.

First off respect for trying to get FOW armor for you ritualist (my favorite class). I was thinking about doing the same thing, but not sure yet.

Sorry to be off topic but does anyone have pictures of ritualist FOW armor?

Thanks

My way of making money is farming green items with my elementalist, over 30 greens items alone i can farm and sell to many types of people or with my Guild that does Fast Faction Farming.

And try to do some chest farming at Vabi as you can get some good weapons and ruby/jewled daggers that turn into Ruby's etc or farming Djinn as they are good form of getting money.

I got Fow armor myself, I dont like it when people say that people with fow armor have used Ebay because you will find out only a few people would ever use Ebay to get money for a set of armor that takes some effort to get,

Oh yeah I had loads of people saying to me I used Ebay to get my armor but i laugh right back at there fat faces :P Its not impossible to get Fow armor just work at it! You will find your self very happy with yourself afterwoods

???? tell me this build

Btw. I've used to farm with duo uw before the neft. Got my Fow pants for my necro in 2 weeks. Now I'm farming with my VwK Rit. The only problem is that I've overfarmed the UW, and gettig like 1 ecto every 15 run. UW is worthless IMO.

Euh? I have a Ritualist/Mesmer and I can kill almost all enemies in Prophecies with no problem, but 30k a hour is plain impossible if I look at mine Rit. I can easely do 5/8k a hour, but 30k a hour, lol what do you farm then? I can take out almost anything, the onces I have problems with are those Trolls near Droknar which I actually killed all just once but those drops were plain crap as well the almost no gold drop. Those walking birds there, cara somthing, mmh I can kill them but drops are really bad. What I do now is farming those Scarabs near Augury rock and can easely take up 12 or more of them at once. Even when they drop nice things and big gold it still doesn't bring it to 30k a hour.

I'm really curious how you do it, maybe you can show me ingame. ?
