Default Sunreach solo with a ranger (no priest tricks).

Can't be done? Think again. Rangers ftw

R/E rust conditions

Equipment:
Any armor
Rotwing Recurve Bow (or near equivalent)
Long/Flat Bow (for Dragon Mosses and Wardens of Earth)

Attributes:
Marksmanship - 16
Expertise - 9
Wilderness - 10
Water Magic - 5

Skills:
Poison Arrow
Hunter's Shot
Rust
Lightning Reflexes
Troll Unguent
Distracting Shot
Savage Shot (optional)
Dodge (optional)

Strategy:

1) Obtain a priest's blessing and kill a nearby group of Dragon Mosses/Stone Scale Kirins. Maintain Troll at all times and use Lightning Reflexes initially. Keep Mosses at long/flat bow range, while poisoning Kirins. If there are two Kirins, make sure to interrupt Animate Vampiric Horror skill of the second one after the first one's death. Use posion and they will all go down rather quickly.

2) Procede toward the boss spawn area. Near the bend to the right is a group of 4 Wardens of the Forest which patrols the entrance. Pull this group and start running away toward the priest. At some point, Wardens will turn back. You should then use Poison Arrow and Hunter's Shot on one of them with the poisoning bow.
Run toward the Wardens and make them follow you again, then run away to force them to go back to their patrol area again. Interrupt a Healing Signet with Distracting Shot on the poisoned Warden and poison/bleed him again, and he should go down. Keep running back and forth to make them move toward you and away. Repeat this for each Warden and they will go down quite quickly. Use Lightning Reflexes if they get too close. Use this technique for killing all Wardens in steps 3 and 4.

3) Now procede toward the boss area. Avoid two patrolling groups of Wardens and Blood Drinker/Rot Wallows and pull the boss group. Run back toward the priest. There's another point at which the boss group will turn back. Use this to your advantage to pull Warden of Seasons as close to you as you can w/o getting in melee range of warrior Wardens (use Lightning Reflexes if they do). Poison and bleed Warden of Seasons, and also poison 1 or 2 melee Wardens. Warden of Seasons will go down quickly as he tries to heal his comrades sacrificing 17% of health in the process. Kill as many other Wardens as the situation requires. Use Long Bow to poison Wardens of Earth at maximum range and run away immediately to prevent them from using their spells, which heal them.

4) When you feel comfortable after eliminating enough Wardens from the boss group, engage Sunreach himself. Poison and bleed him, then when his health reaches about 85%, cast Rust on him. Interrupt a Healing Signet with Distracting Shot, and keep him poisoned/bleeding at all times. Use Distracting Shot again after it recharges to time the next Healing Signet (4-10sec after the second Distracting Shot recharge) and cast Rust before the next Signet. Rinse and repeat, and Sunreach will go down in about a minute time.

The original idea came from a fellow ranger named Hbk Shawn Michaels, whose techinque I adapted in this build.

Quite nice. I still like my a/e for speed though i'm thinking this would be easier for people who have a hard time working with Silver armor.

I have modified the build to avoid killing Wardens of Seasons all together, because it becomes near impossible to do when there are two of them in the mob:

Oles, if you wouldn't mind. I'm thinking of making a video of this. Of course you and your friend will recieve credit for making the build, I'd just like to get it on tape for later. If need be, I can hold off from putting it on youtube until the price lowers more.

I tried this build and I must say I'm very confused by step 3. Errrm step 3 cant make it work!!!!!

Tried this multiple times now. The pulling technique is random at best. I cannot seperate Sunreach or take down his minions. This does not work very well IMHO. Sunreach cannot be isolated!! I've tried far too many times now. What a dissapointing build.

A lot of people seem to have a problem here. But the problem is not the build. When I actually showed it to a few people, they were able to do it w/o a hitch. I should make a video, but let me say right away, this technique works 100% of the time.

I have tried your other build where you use pin down. I still find this build very random. Sunreaches goons will return to him if you step past the aggro zone. This makes applying rust, distracting him, poisoning him and bleeding him quite tricky as you have to try do all these things before he becomes unreachable again, as he returns to his patrol route.

Another problem occurs if Sunreach uses his sig beyond your reach, which he more then often does. You end up having to follow him into the aggro zone to distract him and draw his minions back. I also found that the aggro points for the different minions varied. For example Wardens of the Earth usually have a deeper aggro point than other wardens. I also found was the aggro points were not consistent, which does not help matters at all.

I have also found that some of the patrols get stuck and that spirits etc cause monsters to stop moving.

All in all this farm is not easy, I have managed to kill him once. As I have said before I am not new to farming and am competent with most runs. This one however is simply too unpredicatble.
