Just what we need, a new version of the warrior monk. Seriously though, with a high crit build, this is some pretty powerfull self healing for the cost.

whats the point of this skill? The healing in itself is conditional and comes in short, spaced out bursts, making it totally uneffective when taking anything but small, shurts of totally pointless dmg, and even then, there are better healing options.

I got completely destroyed when trying to use this skill to keep my health up over the FPE. I quickly switched it out for Shadow Refuge and/or Troll Unguet on my A/R. At around 10 shadow arts it healed you for 27 health per critical hit, I think. Maybe my problem was not using the skills that boost your critical hit ratio in combination with this and other skills that automatically and/or increased your chance of critical hitting, but if you did this, then your whole build would be centered around that one skill, which can be stripped or disabled. *grumbles* I don't very much like it, if you couldn't tell.

Assuming you hit criticals 50% of the time, with 12 shadow arts, you'd average out to about 5.6 pips of health regeneration. In short, yeah, Mending for Assassins, or a closer comparison, Live Vicariously.
Of course, that assumes a very high critical hit rate (high Dagger Mastery, high Critical Strikes, and Critical Eye up, probably. I'd imagine you'd need 3 superiors for this.), and not missing at all. Considering that's not likely to be the case, it probably scales much closer to mending than the theoretical value given.

Of course, unlike regeneration, direct health gains stack, but even so, I don't think this skill will see much use of this.

However, this is all theory craft and speculation, so interpret it as you will.

-Edit: As a note, using it with an attack speed buff increases its effectiveness by 50%.

one skill chain:

Critical strike+Moebius Strike+Critical Strike

Makes this skill worth it.

Primal Rage+Way of Perfection on a W/A for a ~70% crit rate, but then, Primal Rage is pretty bad anyway... Disabling all your skills while it's up :-/

EDIT: Damn, didn't read through the post above mine... well, my point about primal rage is still valid at least... (plus you really can'y use Primal and Critical Eye in the same build, both are linked to primary only attributes)

Err...yeah :P

Problem with Way of Perfection (and Pirmal Rage, really) is that you have to build around it to get best use of it.

and the healing is STILL spread out and small.

Theres no "build" to fix the basic problem with skills like this. I dont care if you could Crit hit EVERY HIT, its still only a small heal and spread out to when you attack. A Decent warrior smashing you would outdmg this healing using no skills at all...

I can se why its there, and it woudnt be too bad for pve i guess, but no way would anyone waste a skill slot for this for healing. Most the time your not gonna need it, and when you do, its not gonna help you. Pretty much mending or aura of restoration for assasins.

I can see this and Live Vicariously put together, with Critical Eye and a Speed Buff. But..that's 4 skills....basically for a wierd version of mending :P

Don't compare this with aura of restoration. Aura of restoration is much better than this.

Really thou, Assassin will never be an effective wammo. Well, wammo aren't that successful to begin with (except smiting).

Tbh by the looks of how much enchantment removal is gonna be in this game, this skill is gonna be an utter waste.

I'm casting Way of Perfection
*Shatter Enchantment*

Can someone please tell me how this is better then vigorous spirit? The only situation I can think of where this outheals VS is a W/A with primal rage. Otherwise VS is much superior imo

You don't have to be spec'd in Healing Prayers to use Way of Perfection. That's how it's "better".

By the numbers, it is certainly an inferior healing mechanism than Vigorous Spirit. But you can't get access to things like Caltrops or Dark Escape or Return through Healing Prayers.

In my opinion this skill should be like Critical Eye, however. It should just be a skill with an effect, so you can activate it instantly and it can't kill you by being shattered. 1s to cast, easily removable, and only activating on crits makes it pretty craptastic. I must say it was pretty impressive when I used it on an A/W with Critical Eye, Locusts' Fury, and Flurry. Until someone threw Spiteful Spirit or Empathy on me... then I was often dead before I even realized what happened!

Way of Perfection is great with AoE skills like Cyclone Axe, Triple Chop and Barrage.

However in the future this will be great when conbined with a Scythe's defalt AoE swing.
