Alitle Shield help pls!
hey, i was wondering what would be the best dual modded shield for me to pick?
the -2 dmg while stance + -2 dmg while encahnted one?
i have seen alot of "pro" warriors picking this type, instaed of the usual
30 always -2 dmg or the +45 health stance/ench and -2 dmg.
is -2 dmg really the same/better than +30 health? or +45 health= :O

Most "pro" warriors have all sorts of shields, so they can swap.

Having a +hp anything shield is better than having dual -dmg mods now that DR no longer is universal. Dual DR still works for farming melee mobs, but meh.

really -2 and the likes aint all that great..its only against physical now, best bet is getting hp+10al vs ??, but yea most warriors have a shield for each battle effects, e.g hexed and chanted, best bet is get 1 of each collecter shield of hexed and the likes and see how it goes for ya ^^

Just make sure it has +30hp. Conditional health mods are dangerous - if you are under fire so much that an extra 15 health matters, you're bound to be be having your enchantments shatterered/stripped etc, or e-denied. The absorbtion mods don't make a lot of difference now they only work on physical. I recommend a Geoffer's Bulwark (+30hp, +10 vs piercing) or gold shields with +armour mods. Gl!

I see your point about the conditional mods, but in this case (Stance) there is not a time when farming Spiders when he is not going to be in a stance. If he isn't in a stance, he's already dead.

Good luck indeed... Gold shields with + 30 hits and +armor vs something are so bloody rare.

Who are these "pro" warriors you speak of? Most warriors I know use the exalted aegis from the end of the game, and the only people I know that use +10 armor vs slashing are casters.

OP is talking about Spider farming. Neither of those shields you mentioned is effective here. Seems like your friends are narrow minded. There is no 'one' shield good for every situation.

The +30/-5 shield comes close to the 'all-around' shield. The problem with the +armor shields, is that warriors already have good armor vs. physical damage (piercing included) so the -damage is actually better vs. physical. Anything else is too conditional to use in most cases. You gain very little if anything with a +45/-2 enchanted or stance shield and a -2/-2 shield is really only worth anything farming.

What about a shield that's 14 AL, +30 HP, +2 Energy?
Though not 16 in total AL, it is offset by the fact that I use Legionarre's Armor and always have at least one stance in my skillbar 120% of the time...

oh. I have never thought of pve warriors as anywhere near pro level.
For the game I play, which is different from the game the op plays, exalted aegis or strongroot's/victo's are king.
