Default Hob0's guide to Solo all of Catacombs(Pre-Sear)

First off, I'm sure others have done this, but I haven't seen a thread about it before, so I thought I'd post it.

Profession: X/Mo
Stats: I dont have exact stats, but you can fit them to whatever you want, depending on your profession and skills
Armor: Full Collectors
Weapon and Offhand: Basically anything will do. If your a warrior, an enchanted shield will be good.
Skills:
1.Retribution
2.Bane Signet
3.Orison of Healing
4.Shielding Hands
5.Symbol of Wrath
6,7 & 8.
Warrior: Healing Signet, Power Attack, *Attack Skill*
Ranger: Troll Ungent, Charm Animal, Comfort Animal
Necro: Blood Renewal, Vampiric Gaze, Vampiric Touch
Elementalist: Flare, Fire Storm, Aura of Restoration
Mesmer: Ether Feast, Conjure Phantasm, Empathy

What to do: Its pretty basic. Start from any of the 3 portals into the Catacombs. Basically just keep retribution on and use your skills on the kill the stuff you encounter. This guide seems short just because all you have to do is heal when needed and fight the stuff you encounter. Thats it

Loot: I've heard that the most dyes are dropped in the Catacombs, but not in my experience. For me, I got the most dyes from skales outside Fort Ranik or Bandits. Anyway, this guide drops some materials, "dyes", collector items(skeletal limbs and gargoyle skulls), plus lots of sephis axes(I've gotten a 7-10 sephis axe here).

So, yeah, thats about it.
NOTE: Once you leave the Catacombs and go back in, the "U" map won't be uncovered anymore.

Credit: Me , though I'm sure others have done this.

ENJOY

My secret dye farming spot that i used for a day and got bored is the 10 skeletons at the beginning of the catacombs to the right. I gathered 5 up and threw up a symbol of wrath and went to the next group of 5. I got 2black 3silver 2blue 1red a yellow and quite a few purples however no greens...

For those who think this is dumb, or a waste of time, then think of this...

As long as one person enjoys this, then I'm happy

Well, Catacombs isn't that hard. If you can't solo it then that is just sad. Northern Wall is harder. But soloing anything in pre-sear is easy once you get high enough level.

I actually went for the win for drops in pre-searing to level my monk up.

Get to the ice elemental cave. Pop on retribution and stick up healing breeze. Run in, luring every ice ele with you. Pop another Healing Breeze when you have all 8 or 9 of them on you (not easy with only 5 or w/e armor ) and then cast SoW followed by firestorm.

AoE in pre-searing ftw

QFT.

Its been a long time since I've been to pre-seering, but The Northern Wall is post-seering isn't it? Farming around Fort Ranik is a bit difficult, since there are so many Skales running around.

The only thing I found hard was Over the Wall. If you want to kill everything there, the Char are difficult to do solo.

The guilde is good for those who want to farm in the Catacombs in pre-seering.

On an old monk I made to help a friend, I mastered the art of soloing charr...at level 6. Probably still have screenshots...I found some sort of luring-bug which caused them to rush you one at a time. When one died, the next ran over. The guy I was with got disconnected, and 3 of the 4 he was fighting ran back. THe other followed me, then stood still. I killed it, and another came.

I was level 6 wearing starter armor. Needless to say, I had fun. The same plan of run-a-bit, fight-a-bit worked for every lone 3/4 charr groups. The bigger ones were hard.

Now to find a way to open the gate myself....
