misguided facts!
ok i have been reading on these farming forums and it seems to me that some/most people think that cyclone+triple chop is quicker than galdiators defense+cyclone axe and i am here to dispute that in the case of elonas reach minotaurs(only one ive tested) just to say that no with the builds i use there is no way trip +cyclone is quicker than glads +cyclone and i would like people to post there builds for farming this area (or areas that use the same builds) so i can see if either im using very very lame builds or im right in this case
please dont flame i am not digging at people just there one track thought that triple chop is quicker than glads.

Warrior Monk Triple Chop Farmer
Strength: 13 (11+2)
Axe Mastery: 11 (8+3)
Tactics: 2 (1+1)
Healing Prayers: 9
Smiting Prayers: 8
- Cyclone Axe (Axe Mastery)
Perform a spinning axe attack striking for +10 damage to all adjacent opponents.
Energy:5 Cast:0 Recharge:4
- Healing Touch (Healing Prayers)
Heal target touched ally for 42 points. Health gain from Divine Favor is doubled for this Spell.
Energy:5 Cast:0.75 Recharge:5
- Triple Chop [Elite] (Axe Mastery)
Attack target foe and adjacent foes. Each attack that hits deals +32 damage.
Energy:5 Cast:0 Recharge:10
- Bonetti's Defense (Tactics)
For 6 seconds, you have a 75% chance to "block" incoming melee attacks and arrows. You gain 5 Energy for each successful melee attack blocked. Bonetti's Defense ends if you use a skill.
Adrenaline:8
- Zealot's Fire (Smiting Prayers)
For 60 seconds, whenever you use a skill that targets an ally, all foes adjacent to that target are struck for 21 fire damage.
Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:30
- Vigorous Spirit (Healing Prayers)
For 30 seconds, each time target ally attacks or casts a Spell, that ally is healed for 14 points.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:4
- Live Vicariously (Healing Prayers)
While you maintain this Enchantment, whenever target ally hits a foe, you gain 11 Health.
Energy:5 Cast:2 Recharge:0
- Mending (Healing Prayers)
While you maintain this Enchantment, target ally gains +3 Health regeneration.
Energy:10 Cast:2 Recharge:0
Gear: Sentinel’s Armor, Totem Axe and Strength shield of your choosing, any will work. If you use another armor you can lower strength and increase axe/smiting as desired. Other axes work as well but the +5 energy and +20% enchantment duration are nice to have.
Compared to the “standard” Cyclone Axe + Gladiator’s Defense wa/mo farmer it is a bit more fun as you are dealing the damage directly not just waiting for Glad’s to do the work for you.
When you leave town put on Mending and wait for energy to regen then turn on Live Vicariously. Just before you agro a group turn on Zealot’s Fire, which should last for an entire fight. Gather up a good sized group of enemies and if non-melee are included (like a ranger Tengu or Warden) select one of them as the target of your attacks.
First use Vigorous Spirit for the healing, which also triggers a burst of fire from Zealot’s. Then you pretty much use the top 4 skills as they are available: Cyclone, Healing, Triple, Bonetti’s. With Vigorous Spirit and Live Vicariously you will get a ton of healing coming in from both Cyclone and Triple when surrounded by a group.
Don’t over-use Zealot’s Fire or the enemies will scatter. That is why Healing Touch is used rather than a slightly better skill like Orisons, with HT’s recharge time it won’t trigger AoE scatter. If you need a breather use HT and VS back to back to cause scatter.
Use Bonetti’s to recover your energy for another burst of the attack skills. The lack of Tactics is of no concern since Bonetti’s charges up almost instantly with Cyclone and Triple. Depending on your energy tank (Gladiator’s Armor, Weapon with +5 energy, etc) you may be able to use 4-5 of the 5-point attacks before turning Bonetti’s on. Bonetti’s does block attacks so use it more often if getting pounded. If you finish a fight low on energy then turn off LV and let energy regen then turn it back on.
Regardless of which one is faster I prefer this as it is a bit more interractive.

For minitaurs outside elonas, I am not sure which build is more efficient. However, farming trolls and undergrowth/kirin, I really like the added health boosts attained by the triple chop + cyclone axe with vigorous spirit + live vicariously. Using bonnetties, you can hide for short periods in stance, then triple chop or cyclone to regain lost health. Works beautifully. In addition, adding judges insight for +20% armor penetration does even more dmg, and might be quicker than glads defence. Give it a try.

Dean BB, ur build just makes it slower. 16 in axe, 11 in strength, 8 in healing is all u need. Your damage comes from Triple Chop and Cyclone, y take points out of and put into smite?

For farming mino's glads def might be faster, because of there wary stance.

What? No love for Glad's Def and the two Riposte Skills? At 16 tactics, they do more than Cyclone or Triple Chop could hope to do in two hits.

While farming enemies that mob you, the AoE damage is much better then the ripostes.

It started as the build using Judges Insight (thus the smiting) but I prefer this build. For me it isn't all about the ultimate, efficient build but something that gets the job done and I enjoy doing.

Yes, but as BB explained, healing touch is a short cast spell used to activate zealot's fire, for even more AOE dmg and a small heal.

The only thing I would use the gladiator's defence over tripple chop is ... where I know that the risk of being interrupted is high.
Especially during tripple chop is high --> so like trolls.
But on the otherhand it will require tactics which will probably ruin my skill bar and my attributes.
Cyclone+triple+LV+VS will give you enough adrenaline and with healing at 8 ... 10+13 healing per hit.
The other nice thing is that VS will trigger even if you are blind and therefore will replentish your health.
And notice that these 4 concentrate on ... Axe+Healing and Str... no tactics involved. So a focuse set of attributes.
Add to it bonetti's with even 3 (2+1) and in heavy melee situations it will do also wonders.
Regarding smitting, unless undead is involved and even if I know that I will get hexed and I can use
Hex removal to cause a lot of damage... I would stick to the above build.
Add some more damage dealers like Executioners which will replentish fast with tripple or cyclone and that is it.
Honestly to use a low-energy cost fast recharging skill to trigger ZF...
2 skill slots and probably will force me to use an axe with Zealot's improvement...
It is too widespread, it is IMHO cumbersome.
But on the otherhand it can be that I am too old,
hence too lazy and too stupid to like to split my attributes on more that 4 areas

Just use On Your Knees and keep glad's up permanently... you guys are comparing the conventional W/Mo build, but if you take into account that you can keep Glad's up constantly... Glad's def is probably faster.
