My theory about dye drops
Someone help me out here!
I have noticed that I can force dye drops in a zone by repeatedly farming untill the anti-farm code kicks in. The value of the drops is then lowered, till I eventually get 10-15 dye drops in a instance. I have been testing this for the whole day now, and got about 80 dye drops in the last day. With 4 of them black
Was this just pure random luck? Or has anyone else noticed this? The area I did this in was Frost Gate Mission (have had alot of luck with dye drops there in the past) Someone else please test this and prove me right.

I think Dyes are considered low level loot because if u sell to merchant there worth 1 gold. Also its like ettin armor it still drops golds when you are under farm code because of how low it sells to merchant.

I think that low lvl areas have more chance of dropping them
because while jade farming in area outside .... Gardens I got 2 black dyes in a SINGLE run
I felt so lucky that day ^^

I could see it...I over-farm sand drakes out of elona like a fiend...after the second or third run...ill get 3+ dyes a run...which is a lot more than normal. Ive gotten 3 black and 7 silver within the past 2 days and prolly 100-120 dyes

Interesting.. this could mean that in some places, overfarming results in better drops than not. XD

You trigger anti-farm by just farming in a zone over and over again...It resets eventually when you do something else, there's no proof of *what* you have to do though, it just happens eventually. If you want to get the anti-farm code to kick in, just keep farming a zone. It's kicked in when you notice your drops sucking (at which point said dyes should begin to drop...this makes minos and trolls a lot more appetizing).

Would this work on low level stuff like the Grawl around Ascalon?
If that was the case anyone could just farm dyes.

Frost is a great place to farm for dyes. The only other place that drops the same amount of dyes (no blacks yet) for me is vermin farming. Again that only happens when the antifarm code kicks in.

Read my above post.
The easiest place to farm dyes is off of the Charr in Presearing. I have a guildmate getting 30+ dye of each type (excluding black & silver) every day (prolly 60-100+ if you did it for whole day). He had ~30-40+ silver dye when I asked him and he had 2-4 black dye.

The places where I get frequent dye drops is:
Frostgate mission - Dryder cave (where bonus is) -- You cant actually force the anti-farm code in this mission, but still a good place for dye drops.
Amoon Oasis - Jade Scarabs
Senji Corner - Vermin
I do get dye drops in other places, but not enough for a mention.
P.S. If the anti-farm message kicks in, you have outstayed your welcome, and you might as well move to a new place. Anti-farm means that the actual drops decreases, not only the values.
