ice spear
ice spike
deep freeze
glyph or energy-e-
mealstrom
res
blurred vision
armor of mist

or

water attunment
water trident -e-
ice spear
blurred vision
armor of mist
res
mealstrom
-snare can be anything i often use ward vs foes or ice spikes

I have used the second build to hunt a few bosses and do PvE missions. with water attunment and icespear and water trident you can keep spamming them for a long long time. mealstrom is a nice AoE interupt if your warriors and can get a caster pinned, if your not worried about casters i would take something els.
this isnt a perfect build but its just a template i use then i change it bassed on the area im going to be in. the first is a little more agressive then the second, hope its some help.

If you are going to go Water, just keep in mind that your job is not to do as much damage as possible, but to put snare and cut down the effectiveness of enemies while putting pressure on them. There are some who are completely against water eles, but as long as you tell any groups you join what you are running you should be ok. If you don't specify this, many will assume that you are a nuker and flame you when they see that you aren't the damage dealer they expected. You may still get flamed just by virtue of running water in PvE, but as long as you know your role, you can be a perfectly viable ally to your team no matter what element you use.

I have a Water + Deadly Art build:

Dancing Dagger, Entangling Asp, Ice Spike, Deep Freeze, Maelstrom, Frozen Burst. Assassin's Promise (E), Water Attuntment.

(Water Helm, Sup Water Rune, Minor Energy Rune, and whatever Vigor rune u have) (Water:16, Energy:9, Deadly Art:10)

This build make up with the dmg with Water, and some of the slow recharge Water spells such as Maelstrom and Frozen burst. (also Entangling Asp)

I find Deadly Art hex are better for casters then assassins... dancing daggers and entangling asp are both spells. I really like Entagling's knockdown effect with 15 sec poison. (must follow with dancing dagger though) *don't poison necro enemies, as some of them have plague touch*

Once your target is poison, start using your water spells. (U don't necessary start with Dancing Dagger + Entangling Asp, you can slow your enemies first then use Maelstrom on caster etc.) With right timing Entangling Asp can do both good interrupt and poison degen. When your opponent's health drop to half or lower then half.... use Assassin's Promise. When enemy die within the hex duration... ALL of your spells including Assassin Promise will be recharge and u also gain energy.

With this build, I use Flint's Wand and Artifact. (For more energy, water magic +1 stats) *Shatterstone wand or Stonebreaker wand will also do*

So far this build work for me in PvE~ Dunno how good it work in PvP yet... (probably not as good as Water Trident + all the slow hex build)

On the odd occaison I go water I use the following:

Elemental Attunement {E} / Ward Against Harm {E} / Water Trident {E} (but usually elemental attunement tbh)
Water Attunement
Aura of Restoration
Ice Spear / Arc Lightning
Shard Storm
Vapor Blade
Ice Spikes
Deep Freeze

I don't like Maelstrom too much as enemies tend to just walk out of it so it serves no real purpose. Like I say...usually I use Dual Attunements all the way but sometimes I will substitute in a ward or Water Trident since it is a nice cheap spell. Sometimes I use Arc Lightning as it strikes 2 foes if the first is under a water magic hex...double damage is always good.

When I run with water I use 15 points in water magic, 13 in energy storage... since dual attunements give almost limitless amounts of energy (providing you keep them up) then it is easy to take a few points out of energy storage and re-distribute to Air Magic for Arc Lightning.

Edit: oh yea, you'll notice no res in there. As I am an E/N and the only res I have is Resurrection Signet...I just refuse to bring it. After the 3 enchantments...if I took res signet as well that would leave 4 slots for proper spells! Not really good enough when you think about it. If I was /Mo or /Rt I would consider using a reusable res but tbh when I'm playing as ele there is n ever room on my skillbar for a one-use "one-hit wonder" skill like resurrection signet.

The water build I used a while ago centered on Feast of Corrution and using Ice Spikes and Deep Freeze to quickly and easily hex a large group of enemies. It was a while ago, so I don't remember the exact build, but it was something like:

12 Water Magic
12 Curses
12 Energy Storage- This is the part I'm not so sure about, I know that's not exactly what I used, but it's close enough, the important part is to have a good FoC.

Armor of Mist/Res Sig
Deep Freeze
Frozen Burst
Ice Spikes
Feast of Corruption (Elite)
Vapor Blade
Maelstrom
Water Attunement

Most of the water skills except Deep Freeze and Ice spikes can be interchanged depending on your current needs. Like I said, it focuses on using Deep Freeze to set them up and FoC to do lots of life-stealing. This works especially well in areas where there are lots of enemies bunched up to hit with FoC.

Thanks! I came up with that one while staring at different skills while trying to prove to my friend that water magic can, in fact, synergize with other lines. The hardest part about it was that stupid FoC cap...

With the skill new update. Vapor Blade, Shatterstone (elite) and Maelstrom can deal lots of lots of dmg in PvE! I'm really glad GW tone up Water magic's damage!!

If u focus on pure water, I'd go for Shatterstone, Vapor Blade, Ice Spike, Deep Freeze, Maelstrom, water attuntment, (the 2 other spells can be optional.... water armors enchantments, blurred vision, rust + icy prism etc.)

With water magic 16 + the signet that give 2 more water attribute, Shatterstone can spike ""230 dmg"" within 3 sec, Vapor Blade deal 159dmg! Both spells has short-recharge time. It will be very deadly in PvE. Enemy spawn don't run away from AoE spells when they have healthy life, so Maelstrom can perfectly interrupt enemy spell-casters. (It was nice enough even when GW didn't add the new update)

There will be a NF Water spell "Steam" that work with enemies whom's set on fire... (With good dmg + 10sec blindness) I guess that will be another two optional choice for the Shatterstone spike build.

I used that Feast of Corruption build before, yes it was nice to combine it with Water spells. Spinal Shiver will combine with water spells or a water staff too.

This guy knows where it's at. I'd take something like this..

16 Water
10 Energy Storage
9 Inpiration

Revealed Enchant
Water Attunement
Shatter Enchant/something else (Power Drain)
Vapor Blade
Shatterstone {E}
Maelstrom
Glyph of Lesser Energy
Res Sig

Not sure how you would do on energy, or if it's enough enchant removal.. But dang, you can kinda spike or something!
:EDIT: Alternately, you could possibly use Blurred Vision with Spirit of Failure as energy management. I think the 4 most important skills for water at this point are Shatterstone, Vaporblade, Maelstrom, and Blurred Vision. Up to you how you best utilize them..

Serioulsy...THAT'S CLASS!

I have been having a play with it in Nightfall, testing it out. OMG this works so well! I loved the FoC cap, by the way! SOmething to spend a couple of hours doing when you're waiting for NF to come out anyway!

I was skeptical about the use of Maelstrom due to it's 25-energy cost...along with deep freeze. I really needn't have worried. Somehow energy is not an issue with this! Maybe it's because of the recent buffs what with Water Attunement giving 1 energy + 30% of the energy cost back and GoLE working on the next 2 skills...

Maelstrom, somehow, works even better in NF because the enemies are too bone idle to move their fat, lazy behinds out of the way...they just sit in it!

I used to use these, but I'm not quite sure how well they'll work now.

16 Water
13 energy storage

Water Trident {E}
Ice Spikes
Deep Freeze
Maelstrom
Blurred Vision
Aura of Restoration
Water Attune
Res

16 Water
13 Energy Storage

Shard Storm/Vapor Blade
Icy Prism
Ice Spikes
Deep Freeze
Maelstrom
Water Atunne
Elemental Attune
Res

Not quite sure on it's usefulness now....but that's ok, still was a solid build back in the day...both of em...

I remember Feast of Corruption....Why in god's name did they give it 15 energy cost....They should've at least decreased it's recharge or incresed it's damage...completely useless toi my necro now....And after those 4 months it took me looking for the cap too...
