Hmm....
I just used SS + Backfire + Parasitic Bond vs the Mergonites or whatever they are called in that Olias quest in LA. Guess what... no scattering at all. I laughed when they just died so quickly against us. 1 Warrior, 1 Monk, 1 Ritualist, 1 Ranger, alesia, and me.
We mowed them down very quickly. I just kept seeing numbers keep rising as my hexes took effect. I used the occational Shatter Enchantment and Cry of Frustration, but no scattering of any kind.

Can't you just have a Henchie or Hero go behind them and either cripple them or lay a trap?? I'm gonna have to stop being lazy and actually get SS to test it out. I have noticed an increase in scattering when anything is cast on foes. Its not really that bad, just annoying. I suspect that it will take little adaptation for things to go back to normal.

I've gotten to Vabbi with my shiny new SS, (I only had it a few days before the "nerf" and if it kills this fast now, it needed a nerf... ) rarely do the mobs scatter, and occasionally I have seen one or two run away, but by then the mobs are all dead.. I've MM'd 1 mission, and used this and Henchies for the rest:
The chain I use goes in this order:
Reckless Haste~tab~SS~tab~Insidious Parasite~tab~Order of Pain~tab to less than half health~ Signet of Lost Souls (steals health and gives energy)~tab to find max health~SS~tab~Suffering.... rinse and repeat...
Am I lucky or just not have seen SS in full strength? This to me seems to do suprising amounts of damage....
***edited 'cuz I found the name of the Signet***

Why do people think that now SS suffers from AoE NPC reactions, that SS now is useless? Sorry folks, but SS is still the great elite is ever was.
I use SS a lot and I haven't seen any problems at all. Scattering? Lol, I haven't seen it yet. 40% of max health makes monsters run and heal. Trap them in a corner, force them to confront their destiny.
If you find that they run a lot, then you aren't killing, you are just wounding them. Out of curiousity, how long does it take for you to kill a creature? I guess I kill them faster than they realize they must flee.
Before the AI change, I chased those stupid Potion & Remedy guys around the Bazaar area. I eventually trapped (no crippling, no slowing down) and pumbled them senseless. As a N/Me I can destroy monsters quickly.
Please stop saying SS has been nerfed to utter uselessness. It hasn't. It hasn't changed for PvP and if you can do more damage than just SS alone, then you shouldn't have problems either.

Spites DPS comes nowhere near MoP DPS. Yea, they nerfed Spites but MoP is back. I couldn't be happier.

After using SS alot in Nightfall, its still as good as it used to be, especially when you're echoing it. So right now, the only thing that was effected by the nerf is solo farming melee monsters. I tried fighting the trolls and we were deadlocked until I just gave up and left. They couldnt kill me, or me kill them.
They actually attack in shifts. When some get low on health, they retreat to heal, while the other half continues fighting. Then they swap when the attackers are low on health and the others are healed. It's definitely more realistic now.

Yea, agree. And MoP barely causes scattering.

I played through the entire game of nightfall as my everyday SS + reckless haste + desecrate/defile enchantments necro and I did see a small amount of scattering. This wasnt an issue and ill tell u why. My main stratagy was to send koss in, then start echo SSing. The enemies did scatter a small bit but instead of going after the casters, they went right back to Koss. This build is still incredably successful and you shouldn's stop running in in missions and quests just because it doesnt work in UW.

Agreed. SS isn't nerfed. Farmers are.
