Hey Sir Robin
There's three great stickies just above where you posted.
Read some on the warrior builds, see what kind of warrior you want to build then you'll have some great questions on what to build that suits your taste.
Have fun

/sigh a whammo. What will the world be without you...probably a better place, but hey...
The way you build your character is in no way definitive. You don't want your healing build into gvg. You can fit in a healing signet, but don't be a stance tank. It's either: kill alot of people, or be unkillable. Choose.

The way of the warrior is pretty black and white, but not as bland as Yanman put it. True, it's either kill or be unkillable, but the best way to be a solid all around warrior is to balance it out.
Attributes should be like this at lvl 20;
Sword/Axe/Hammer 12 to 16
Strength:10(min)
Tactics 9(min)
With these basics to att statistics, your warrior will be able to give as well as he can get. Solid armor and good weapons that compliment your build of choice will also help your cause.
Sword is better than axe at the constant damage level, while axe has a spike damage potential that sword doesn't really ever enjoy. Hammer is good for solid damage mixed with KDs(Knockdowns for the new guys who don't know the terminology). However, take into account that hammers are slower than both sword and axe, and that will directly affect the outcome of combat.
I say use all 3 weapon types before trying to specialize. The skills are their to use, so use them.
Also, if you take a more stance based build in PvE, you will be able to take more damage, as well as stay mobile, unless you use Dolyak Signet(Strength),which makes you move like a snail when activated, but gives you great defense.
That may not always help your team's cause, though, so pick your skills wisely.
But, you can deal damage and defend yourself well, just that every build leans more to one side or the other at the end of the day.

Instead of going with a self-healing build, I would suggest going with a build that decreases/negates damage.
Go with a Warrior/Mesmer, and use the two stances, Physical and Elemental resistance. Alternate due to the current situation (more elementalists, ele resistance on. More melee, physical on) Bring Watch yourself! to negate the armor loss

Hi!
I don't know if you know this and i may sound dumb if you do, but...
...you can always change your skillpoints around, when you're in a town or outpost. So there is no need to build the perfect warrior from scratch. You can even change you secondary profession later.
So, i'd say just try out some skills and chose THEN. I've had my warrior for a long time now and i will keep him, that's for sure. Depending on the situation I reskill him and always get him to do what the build is meant for. ;-)
At least to contribute a little to your thread:
Sword-Warrior for single targets, Axe-Warrior for multi.
Hammer ist not only for PVP, but it's good there.
Tactics- and Strength-Warrior for running/tanking/ahhh there's so much you can do with a warrior...
Have a nice day!
Cheers! MH.
