Default With the new game update, what build/character should i make for a farmer?

I'm not that great with the skills and what they do, so thats why i need help, i started a monk and was gonig ot be 55, but with the new nerf i heard no real point. So i'm looking for a build that i can run around and farm stuff in the good places like Uw and w/e ppl farm for golds and coins.

The two classes most affected by the nerf was Rit, monk and Necro. Farming is still possible with these classes, just at a slower rate. As far as I know ranger and warrior farming builds wasnt touched, so those are also an option.

My suggestion to you would be to rather to create a char you enjoy playing, and then look for a way to use it to farm. Dont be like alot of us who created chars for the sole purpose to farm just to find its not worth it anymore.

I will ask to my guru... farmer dirk...

words of wisdow from the master...

"But if you see Orville, you tell him to keep his filthy hands off my pigs!"
"I don't get visitors all that much out here..."
"I've got work to do, so if you want to stick around, I expect you to pitch in a hand."
"King Adelbern's cook has a standing order with me. Nothing but the best pork for the king."
"So my pigs wander into Orville's garden every now and then. They don't cause no harm."
"Sure is lonely being a pig farmer."

...only farmer dirk can help us...

Along with ele. Stoneflesh aura, along with sliver armor, it allows a huge aggro and consistent high damage.

Personally, if you want a pure farming character, make a warrior. There is basically no chance of it getting "nerfed" because there is nothing to nerf. The warrior can take damage, and deal it out just as much, nothing anet can do about that

I was still able to farm tundra giants with my 55, and I think there's some spots where they might still be ripe and plenty

Yeah, 55s (of all professions) and VwK Rits still work against non-melee foes, for example the Ice Imps outside of Marhan's Grotto, or the Tundra Giants in Dreadnought's Drift. Also, Warrior farming is good - especially the FoW Spiders.

...The attacks are the same type for "large number of guys at one time", so the result would be almost the same. So, most of it is single target.

They're right though, W/X FoW spider farming seems to be most effective method of income until we find another post-nerf.

I retract most of my complaining about the nerf in farming. By looking for a new place to farm I tried a place which I never thought of trying before Good money, and the mobs have not been nerfed so full value

LOL, you think Anet does not know their spots.

Use a 55 build and just farm mobs but in less numbers, the days of having tons on you attacking you are gone.

Agreed. Warriors are splendid when it comes to farming greens. I made a Derv as well just because I KNOW some people (including myself hopefully) will be coming up with some creative Derv builds to farm with in the upcoming months. I'm getting my derv prepared now in case I see something later that might be fun to try out. Key word: fun.
