At 16 Earth Magic, this skill more than makes up for the long cast time and 15 energy needed to cast it. At 16 Earth Magic, it boosts your armour up by 84 points. When I use this to Hydra farm, their fireballs and meteors do around 29 damage to me, other than the usual 130 or so. It's quite useful if you know how to work the spell.
Personally, I put on:
1. Kinetic Armour
2. Earth Attunement
3. Aura of Restoration
4. Ether Renewal
5. Spam Stone Daggers
I can usually get off about 4-5 Stone Daggers in the time slot before Ether Renewal goes away, but I gain 80 health and 4 energy (2 energy * 4 enchantments = 8 energy + 30% of spell cost from Earth Attunement = 9 energy - 5 energy cost for Stone Daggers = 4 energy gain) from each set of Stone Daggers. This combination works really well against melee creatures.
