Hmm, I thought Nolani Wand was nerfed. Anyways
As a 55 monk, I use spirit bond, though I find Wary Stance intruiguing. Didn't get to read most of the guide, but sad to see you go bye. I also use an SS, and I find that using 2 visages is a waste of time (Sigh, all "pug" groups are using double visage on smite crawlers). Spirit bond seems to be more effective to me, because regardless of Healing Breeze, it has a longer cast time lengthning the time an enemy can attack you. Wary Stance would fix this problem, though I still think Spirit Bond is more secure. Not only that, when your a 55 with a spirit bond, you can change to your wand and swat away at the dying nightmare, without fear of death. When you use a HB, having 105 hp and tanking all of the quest/aatxe would be a little troublesome.

You can switch to a wand while retaining 55 hp, I'm not sure what you mean?

Well cerb, it appears that there's now a new "challenge" for you..if a bit rancid-tasting. New anti-melee farming code.

wow, that update this morning seems to have taken a huge hit on UW farming, when I get home later this afternoon I guess I'll be trying a couple builds out to see if we can still keep UW farming as fast as it was :/

Dear Cerb
Im sad ur leaving...
I guess like the 23 mil exp monk was your inspiration,
you were mine.. I walywas wanted to do things like you, write good guides and be which is called today a "pro"...
Sry that our teaching/learning about Spider capping couldnt succeed, I really wanted to know how to do it, now I figured it out by myself.
From the time I met you In-Game when you told me that you can take all the chamber including quest in 2 groups, I said to myself that Im going to try that too until i manage to do that.
Well, Guess what. I took all the chamber in 2 groups out!
(If you guys would See how I aggroed before meeting him, you would cry)
And just to make you sure tat im not lying I will post a link to the Video today Evening.
well, Sry t hear that ur leaving, you were really something.
Regards. Monk Klausner

Spirit Bond
Well, i tested Spirit Bond again in UW after the AI change,
i did come out with this result:
(Spirit Bond tank + Holy Smiter
Spirit bond still works, u only need 2 think of this: When the tank has aggro, dont do anything, STAY OUT of his aggro range, if u come in it, the mobs will go after you. DONT aggro over 6 enemys, they will interupt 1 time Spirit Bond, and your cursed 2 your dead. With 3 Enemys will get enough energy 2 recast Spirit Bond asap, so every 2.25 secs if possible. again this change made me 2 adapt the build for the tanker wich now become a Mo/W, with Bonnetis Defence, a normal 55 skill. This skill is used as a back up for Spirit Bond, if it ends, use Bonnetis, and let your energy charge until u get a hit or 2. wich normally hapens, then recast Spirit Bond, and it is recharge, the only downside for this is that the damage output is lower, and take longer to take out a group of mobs, a normal smite run i did after this nerf was around 30 mins, and we got 1 ecto drop..>_> Farmin is nerfed imo.

I also still use Spirit bond, but not in the way I used to use it...
So exile, guess you haven't aggroed more than 3 enemies at a time so they don't scatter? (or dont enemies scatter from holy wrath+retribution)

Hmmph, Anet actually tried to stop bots with this, I just read...
Can't they see it? If they keep nerfing untill farming won't be any fun, just more bots will keep coming.. R.I.P Dual UW and R.I.P Cerb's fantastic build

SS causes scatter now too so expect a longer run time there...with the 55 or 55/sb hybrid. Ah well just have to do some adapting.

i just read the guide, and i found it extremely informative. I have the armor for a 55 monk, but have been playing as a 600hp spirit bonder running with a smiter. Im pretty new to the game and to farming UW, but in about 2 weeks i got my run times down significantly (turns out i was using the same aggro pattern for the 1st room and similar ones for the chamber). After the AI change, I made a few runs to try to analyze the changes and see a few builds that worked. while Im not nearly a pro and still pretty new to UW farming (~1 mil xp for a monk character that i created specifically for UW), I was able to clear the first two rooms with only minor mods to aggro behavior, namely, taking smaller groups. as soon as america gets favor (could be awhile..), ill be going back to experiment with new builds.
Thanks for the guide, I hope the new update doesnt completely demolish UW farming, because while the money was good, I was big fan of the challenge.
also, R.I.P s.b., lasting for only 10 attacks means spamming the heck out of it if you have the energy for it, or severly limiting aggro patterns

didnt think famine ranger worked, when I tried using another build using SV/AV, the aataxes scattered and wouldnt reaggro until near fully healed. I think ill probably be using my trapper or *sigh* build a VWK rit. although hopefully in a few hours when NF goes live ill use one of the new builds (probably Paragon, I was on vacation during the preview, and I'm dying to try out the new skill types, as for the dervish, i'll pray for further updates or hope the scythe doesnt trigger the scatter before making one)
