In Pve would power drain be a realistic energy management tool . From the stats it gives a good return , I used it a lot as a mesmer , the interrupt is handy and it frees up the elite slot for me to use something like spell breaker or blessed light.At the moment im using mantra of recall in my fairly standard boon prot build.

I havent read the whole thread, but I was just wondering if anyone has considered the ele elite "Second Wind" as energy managemend. I havent done a whole lot of testing with it yet. But I was thinking maybe if you were to use -1 regen weapons to get a high energy pool you could have some constant exhaution and be fine.

Maybe the elite is trash, but I just capped it today(working on skill hunter title) and was wondering if it is useful at all. If possible could someone do a number crunch on it?

also, why didnt you include energy tap as an option? i know its just RA, but i run a boon build that uses MoR, inspiried hex, energy tap. got half of gladiator title with just this. i usually kite warriors with guardian on constantly, so casting a energy tap is pretty easy. some battles however you just dont cast it if there are decent interupt mesmers, which are rare in RA.

energy tap is also pretty useful after being ressed, to cast boon, MoR and a couple of heals, then maybe switch to higher energy weapon set until MoR is nearly ready to be recasted.

Because he did an evaluation of all the GOOD options for Monks. Energy Tap has a horrible cast time, horrible recharge, and a fairly mediocre energy gain. There are other things that would be far more valuable in that slot.

Anyway, to be honest, Im having a hard time wasting my elite slot for OoB/MoR which makes me go for drain enchantment and inspired hex in PvE and Channelling in PvP, esp. HA

^HA is about the only place where Channeling is viable. And what other elite would you bring in PvE? Unless you are running a Blessed Light build, I think an Elite E-management is perfectly in order.

mattjone, second wind is very viable and spammable if you need energy for emergency, I have tried it several time in alliance battle and it worked out fine. But there is one down side, interruption, 2 second activation does not go well with interrupt. First of all if you get interrupted, the exhaustion goes anyway, and u dont get energy. So basically you get screwed. IF you are fighting in less chaotic place like RA,TA or HA instead of Alliance battlem second wind IS NOT THE IDEAL MONK E MANAGEMENT.

I dont get why people get this fuss about nerfed mesmer e-management skill, monk has their own e-management skills,

Boon of signet. get signet of malice and sig of rejuvenation you'll be on your way

Boon signet, protective spirit and vigours spirit and dwayne's sorrow(only aoe enchant i know of) ftw, +6 energy every 5 second, not mention bonus 37 hp

Healer's Covenent is just godly, combine with holy haste you can basically not worry about energy at all with 5 e healing spells.
(I did a test with a friend in preview, I mimcryed his healer covenent, I had glimmer of light, I just spammed heal as I wanted as long as i covered the enchant)

Defender's zeal sucks hell in pvp, anyone with the right mind would removed it 5 second after its casted
