Default Making the boon prot work - need help

I've made Dunkoro into a classic Mo/N boon prot (since AI uses OoB properly), but the results are quite horrendous.

Skills

[skill]Reversal of Fortune[/skill][skill]Guardian[/skill][skill]Mend Condition[/skill][skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Offering of Blood[/skill][skill]Holy Veil[/skill][skill]Contemplation of Purity[/skill][skill]Divine Boon[/skill]

Now, the bastard keeps [skill=text]Divine Boon[/skill] up all right, but that's about the only right thing about his behaviour.

He uses [skill=text]Reversal of Fortune[/skill] not as a spammable heal, but as spike defence, i.e. rarely.

[skill=text]Mend Condition[/skill] he uses to, surprise-surprise, remove conditions. Of which there are plenty, so at least he does some healing with it.

[skill=text]Guardian[/skill] seems to get used more when under fire from casters than melee, and again, not as a heal. Meh.

[skill=text]Protective Spirit[/skill] now, this fine 10e spell is the only one that seems to get used as a heal. On self and minions too. No amount of energy management can cope with that

[skill=text]Holy Veil[/skill] and [skill=text]Contemplation of Purity[/skill] don't get used, period.

I've seen people in this forum say that boon prot works with AI. Could someone share their positive experience please?

Mantra of Recover (E)
Inspired Hex

MAke your hero monk as Mo/Me and at least 9 in Inspiration. Wahts great is he always recastes MoR as soon as it ends so he is ALWAYS rdy for battle. However, he is still Ai, so despite being able to last for a good long time, he still ends up draining energy like normal...

This helps in longer battles though.

Take out CoP, and OoP, and sub these two in, or choose which 2 you think best.

cheers!

That all nice an well as far as energy management goes, but that wasn't the question I asked. The problem is the AI doesn't use the build as boon prot, i.e. healing with the DF and boon bonus, and many people said their boon prot works with AI.

when i was playing through NF i constantly changed my hero monks boon prot setup trying to make it work but it just didnt happen properly..

when playing my monk i preferred energy drain over mantra of recall but the hero AI seems to prioritize monk skills > mesmer and doesnt use energy drain when it should.

in general i think there is too much enchantment stripping going on in NF.

i've had the best results when just slapping a heal build on my hero and taking mhenlo and kihm in the end game maps. 3 monks total.

i'd like to know if the AI even takes the healing of divine boon into account when spamming heals.

Yeah, I guess I'll play around with straight healing builds. Healer's Boon springs to mind, at least the bastards will heal for ALOT

Small update - the AI doesn't use [skill=text]Healer's Covenant[/skill] correctly, same problem as with bonds - he won't cast it and won't keep it up. You can disable it and cast manually, but with all the enchant removal around this takes too much micro. Also, [skill=text]Words of Comfort[/skill] only sees use when there's a condition, he won't heal a clean character with it

The best boon protector I came up with had power drain and leech signet. Human players can't take advantage of these skills for energy management because they need to be looking at health bars, not at what the enemy is casting. However, the computer does an amazing job interrupting everybody and refilling energy at the same time. I am actually disappointed that my chararcter is a monk because the computer plays boon protector better than me sometimes.

Problem is AI doesn't play boon prot, he plays prot. He doesn't intentionally heal off boon's bonus. That is, except prot spirit for 10e on minions. Stellar efficiency

Have you tried Tahlkora ? I set her in 'avoid combat' mode (inspired hex works fine in that mode) as boon prot and it's not that bad. She keeps divine boon and matra of recall up all the time and tend to use RoF quite often. I've disabled prot spirit so she doesn't waste her energy anymore. She's able to keep me alive so it's ok imo.

AI cannot run the same boon prot human players run. I tried inspired hex on my boon prot and guess what, they actually started to cast the hexes from inspired hex. I also notice that AI will attempt to heal with prot spirit over and over again. other than that it works pretty well.

my boon prot build
RoF
Gardian
Prot spirit
Spirit Bond
mend ailment
power drain
energy drain (E)
Boon
