You know Anet. If you are going to nerf something at least nerf it right.
If you notice Spirit bond will not always reset to 10 if you reapply it before the old one wears off.

Kind of stupid if you ask me. If I use 10 energy to reapply it I should get another 10 shots. Just like I should have another 15 seconds if I reapply protective spirit.

And yet, Mantra of Recall doesn't give the bonus when it's reapplied. Guess they just did a pick and choose type of deal, whatever is used to a big advantage must have gotten the rough end of the deal :/

Mantra is a little different. The condition is that the enchantment has to end. Also by virtue of the timer and recast you were suppost to be able to reapply it. Though with a +20% enchantment staff that changes that.

Yes.. that's what I was thinking. If the SB now ends after 10 hits, it should end after 10 hits regardless of the 20% enchant mod. But if that would be the case, how is it an enchantment then?
Personally I am disgusted with this whole thing. There was no reason to nerf spirit bond. What have you accomplished by doing this, anet? You have destroyed many farming builds and deprived people of what little money they were making. And yes, it was little money. All the farming places including shirokken are nerfed into oblivion already, so why cant people make their hard earned 3k in 15min? Spirit bond was one of the very few ways people could make their money...
And yes. Farming, making my character look good, devising new farming builds, and making money are my primary reasons for playing the game. I dont need any more XP or skill pts from quests since I have more than enough of that.
I see a pattern here... The monk gets worse and worse as a whole, with constant nerfs. The nerfed skills become useless, and people simply discard them never to be used again. So it's not like the skills get changed. They are essentially "taken away" forever.
10 hits is very fast... SB will be over before it is applied in both PvP and PvE.
I wanted to take my monk through Nightfall first, so that I could do some farming in later areas... Now it's completely pointless. I might as well just make a dervish in hopes of a new farming build.
Hell.. I'm so upset and repulsed, that I dont even give a damn when the USPS delivers my Nightfall. For all I care, it can be a week from now at this point...

It should be like Life Sheath (reset when reapplied, and also originally buggy)

Less crying is key. Spirit bond was nerfed, and it is likely bugged, but it wasn't a bad change. 10 Hits doesn't make it any less useful in pvp, but having it end when the 10 hits are up would be smart, so people can know when to reapply it.
As for the whiners, give it up. Learn to adapt or rage quit. Skills are constantly being balanced for the overall good of the game, try to see the big picture.

I think the idea was that people were using it to farm and don't like that it's harder now...some people are able to take a slightly more jaded view because they don't need any FoW armor pieces.
I agree though that people will need to simply adapt.

Yes anet evidently doesn't understand that they can't balance the game by nurfing skills that people use. They need to buff the tons of useless skills that are in the game and make them usable. The reason people use specific spells/skills repeatedly is not because they are overpowered (for the most part), but because they are the only skills that even function to the point that they are usefull. Anet just doesn't get this so they would rather take the lazy way out and nurf the skills that are used down to the level of the skills that are not used in order to try to balance the game. Unfortunatly this serves the purpose of basicaly removing those skills from reasonably effective and functional gameplay.
A prime example of this is between evicerate and cleave. While I don't deny that evicerate may have needed a little bit of a nurf this certainly did not balance cleave out any at all. People still don't use cleave at all because its a pathetic skill. If evicerate is nurfed down to the point that cleave is actually attractive when compared to evicerate (or the other elites) then people will simply stop using axe warriors because they are no longer viable playing options. The only way to make cleave or any other underpowered skill like this a viable skill is to either buff the underpowered skill or else change the way it funtions in some way. The answer is NOT to nurf the skills that people actually use, save for extreme instances.

just my 2 cents abt eviscerate here but..
think they nerfed it just to make decapitate look better, not just cause it was too strong
think abt all the dmg you can deal in PvP with that new thing.. if its to end the battle who cares abt energy and adren loss?

honestly i never found SB to be worth the skill slot for other than farming.
as far as balancing i'm interested to see down the road how Nightfall would have effected the prenerf SB. the farm build definitly had its drawbacks but many classes could pull off the build. any event no point crying over spilled milk

Man and I thought I was disappointed.
With the 10-hit nerf, Spirit Bond is still not useless, the build previously used to farm is still useful at certain places. I wanted to see how badly the nerf has done to the build so this past weekend me and 2 guildies abandoned NF for a few hours and did our routine through FoW and UW with 3-men and 2-men Spirit Bond builds, they are still 100% useful in those places, with only a little adjustment and some better team work, we each got a few ectos/shards as result like usual. In the last FoW run we actaully tried to go as far as we could, we went inside the forge and died at the last group of 2 shadow monks, I didn't really cared at that point because it was approaching 4AM and the forge is usually something we do with 4 people. Whether it's a bug or not, the fact the 10-hit counter doens't reset on recast is definitely a handicap for the tank but it's nothing that can't be overcome.
If what you said is true, that devising new farming builds is part of the main reason why you play this game, why not use the time ranting here either to A. report the bug to Anet or B. come up with a new/better build with the new skills available with NF? I'm sure either way it's time better spent and possibly many people can benefit from what you can come up with.
Finally if you are only getting about 3k for every 15 mins, I suggest might as well wait for us to have the favor and run FoW or UW to maximize your return.
