what he means I think is that normal max damage stuff is worth more and the output of greens is less so there is less of the same greens with different skins etc

for why the prices have gone down, its because there's much less farming so people sell the rare items knowing the price will only get lower which sets them even lower. This I suppose is the reason there is a double dye weekend to get them and auto sell to a dye trader, I suppose you could say they are trying to control the economy say a guild wars inflation.

Rares sold --> Traders = Lower Price And Inflation in terms of how much the money is worth.

I do see this as an improvement as joey average could be able to afford an ecto if he needed it. Although I do miss farming money to unlock skills but take the good with the bad

Because most people do not understand Supply and Demand.

It's much harder to farm now, so as soon as someone get a good rare item, they try to sell it. Now why they want to do that is understandable. The price is higher than what they had before so they sell it now thinking they get a better profit. That, however, is a loss, because if they wait patiently for the price to continue to go up, they can sell it for more.

As for dye weekend:
Most people would stock up on dye and sell them to people ASAP. Then as prices drop, they sell it to traders because there is an increase in SUPPLY.
The smart person would wait for some time for the Supply to go back down (might take forever, you never know), then sell the dyes for the prices that were there before the event, thus netting them gold.

If you know the price is increasing, don't sell, wait till the price hit a decent amount so you can get more. It sounds like an easy and "duh" concept, but most people get happy when they found something rare and tries to sell it right away because it's price is higher than what they are used to because the price is continuously increasing. They think that the price will drop, which unless there is an event planned ahead or a very good farming build for it, the price will usually stablize or go up.

If you remember when Factions released, prices on everything droped then as well. Everything drops for like a month with the release of a new game because there are less people buying things as they are all busy playing. The quantity is still there as it has not been sold off but the damand will be low for about a month.

After that as demand starts to rise with the new AI limiting supply, the prices will likely increase probably by about 10% is my guess as faming in general seems to take 10% longer.

NOTE: Items that are no longer farmable will increase much more than that.

Well I have not done an IDS run in ages so not sure what all has changed up there since the update. I guess I will have to dust off my warrior and set him up with my IDS build and give it a go.

In the past I have never used Charge and Sprint to get to the cave as I liked to kill everything I could going up there. So I would run through Tasca's Demise. I then fight my way up from there getting the drops along the way. The only groups I do not kill are the Avicara with the mesmers in the group and boss groups. I can take out everything else with the build that I have used.

Will test out my build this weekend and report back how it all goes.

Umm less supply means more quantity demanded. Most people want to get the best weapon on their chars before playing them (really weird -.-), so a lot of people get one of their old characters to finish the game first, farm/buy items, and then play new characters.

i figured a way u can, you can either fight the whole way there with henches, which would take forever, and then when u get there, order henches off screen so they dont take ur drops.

prolly the faster way is run up to the res shrine right before the giants and die there so ur resed with ur henches and only have to fight from there to the cave, and then when u get there, order them offscreen.

I tried testing out something with the new age solo monk and a warrior runner ( to lazy to get through tascas demise whatsit ), when I reached the avicara the ardent and wise kept chasing me, the ardent didnt do anything, but the wise casted phantom pain. My friend used charge to keep me running but they kept following so he broke off from me and i headed toward the ice imp cave, and they still followed me to the last imp. well not to the last imp the azure things popped up and pwned me

So the fact that minutes after the massive nerf to farming people (who weren't posting on guru whining about it) were finding solutions to it, coming up with plausable solutions and also possible solutions, thus proving that farming isn't nerfed afterall and is no harder than originally thought so prices don't actually increase at all in the long run would also explain why people sell items the moment they get them?

People adapt, its not hard to farm bosses, however short sighted you obviously are. Just because the '55' got 'nerfed doesn't mean the entire of GW is screwed.

holy cow this was hard. haven't done in a while. well i soloed it but took a good hour or two and 5000 some deaths.

a bit hard to break aggro or kill them when they follow. A-net Plasse fix the AI for the monster. 1 group followed from the 2nd rez shine to the ice cave!!!

oh well life goes on.....

I had a sudden burst to want an IDS 2 days ago, so I went to farm one and brought 7 Henchies with me, they kept agro away from me, and i was able to make them stand far enough away so I get all the drops. I didn't get a sword though

Have to say sorry that I have not posted here. I have not had the chance to dust off my warrior to see if I could do it yet. I have gotten tied up with other things ingame and out of game. Hopefully will be able to test it out here soon.

When I do I will let you all know.
