Thumbs down Ele Heros don't like Attunements?

Was just wondering if anyone else was having this problem, for some reason my ele heros, both Zhed and Sousuke won't use Attunements 90% of the time, unless I make them do it. Even if they actually use one, they will never use both, Elemental + Specific type attunement. (If they have both of corse) Very annoying to say the least, as they constantly burn all of their mana...instead of simply using an attunement. =\

Anyone else seen this happening, or do they just hate me?

Maybe try putting the attunements on the far left of the skillbar?

It's not just you, but my friends keep saying you can "teach" heroes, by manually using them right before / at the start of battle, and half the time, after doing that for a little, they tend to do it more for me.

But the other half they run around spamming 15 E skills with no attunements on.

I have Awaken the Blood on Olias (works the same way as attunements). I put Awaken the Blood in his #1 slot (furthest left) and he uses it properly.

I have them in slot #1 and #2, and they still very rarly use them.

I dunno about the "teach" thing...worth a shot I suppose. =\

I have my Fire Attunement on the last spot of Zhed's bar (meaning all the way right, on number 8). He uses it every time. As soon as I press space to attack something, he's hitting Attune.

So it might be an isolated incident for you. No idea. Also, it seems they prioritize skill use in some (only to them understandable) way. So you might have to try moving it around on the skill bar.

I actually did quite extensive testing to work out a good hammer build for Goren. Ireristible Blow just gets spammed if you give him it.

They use one attunement correctly for me but refuse to use dual attunments correctly for things such as air skills spam.(I wish we had a FF like gambit system to force certain actions and skill orders on heroes)
I changed them to searing flames spikers since they are too stupid to manage mana consumption with every other build.

Interesting! My default action to start battle is to call a target with Control-Space. I've found that with Elemental Attunement in the second slot, and a good (quick and cheap) attack spell in the first spot, Sousuke almost always does #1, then #2. I assume that calling a target implies that his first priority is to actually attack something. For me, dropping Ele Attunement back to a high numbered spot meant that it was almost never used until the end of the battle.

On the other hand, Dunkoro almost always has Peace and Harmony up, as this is in his #1 slot. And that's just walking around, between battles! No prompting or anything...

But the one that gets me is Hundered Blades. I can't get Koss to use that to save his life! No matter where it is in his bar.

As for attunements, my zhed uses both it and glyph of lesser energy fine, in slots 2 & 3. Well, glyph about half-fine

Heroes will not use their attunement unless in combat. ie they won't just maintain it between fights even if you stop moving to give them time.

But once combat starts, I know they will cast Fire Attunement. Not sure about dual-attunes since I've not tried that.

I have taken to clicking on the hero's Fire Attunement before each fight while I am prepping my own skills.

I have ele attune & fire attune in 6 & 7 slots with aura of restoration in slot 1. I spent the first few battles casting their skills for them and they work fine afterwards. I guess you could teach them.

I've run into problems with this recently, and I feel it didn't used to be a problem. I have my hero use Fire Attunement (slot 8) and Aura of Restoration (slot 7). I think the problems started after I added Aura of Restoration, but I'm not sure.

I think the heroes consider attunements as "energy regen" instead of "e-management" so unless they have low energy it's a bit unlikely they use it right away.

got attnement on slot 7 and works fine.. but...
glyph of renewal > attunement = gg.. and it seems to be zhed's favorite combo -_-;

I've got elemental attunement and fire attunement on far right side of the skill bar on Sousuke and he keeps them on 24/7.

I keep fire attu in slot 1, and zhed seems to keep it up most of the time in battle. Like Dazzler, I mostly click it on my hero bar before I enter battle, as otherwise he will sometimes start firing off rodgerts without an attu up.

Hopefully the AI will get updated as people find issues. I mean Mantra of Recall is used as much as possible without being in battle which is actually a good thing. This is sort of what I would like to see with the attunements. 100% uptime. At the moment if you give Blood is Power to a necro it wont use it at all. Give him BR and he uses that all the time.

Overall though I love the heros. Thankfully anet listened to us when we said we want to be able to control henchmen's skills. Now can we please get 8 heros rather than 4? Whats up with that?
