The Campfire is technically a PvE discussion board, but there are no class-specific PvP boards so it is commonly used for both purposes. Also, the OP mentioned that he wondered how it would work in PvP.

Notice that the Gladiator's Arena is only for posting team builds.

dragon slash is the king of all sword builds. Less gimped warriors imo.

I've raised that question before, and I think my question was somehow side stepped.

Wow, I really mess stuff up when I'm in a hurry. Spelt dragon slash as dragonlance. Shows what kinds of things I think about subconsciously (like when people mistype "give me a sex").

Warrior/Monk
Level: 20

Weapon : Zealous / +5 energy / +30 hp / Max dmg Sword
Sheild: Any Strength Sheild with +30 hp mod
Armor: Full Glads (or mabey replace the head/arms/legs with +5 hp ones instead) so u get 33 energy.

<snip>

Stragety:
Charge in and when u engauge hit "For Great Justice!" and just keep it up as much as possible. Then follow up with Barbarous Slice > Gash > Galrath Slash > Final Thrust. Hit Mending touch when u get a condition or 2(ideally when u get 2). Hit Zealous Benediction when u hit below 50% health.
Oooo, I dunno, not a bad build at all, certainly not the worst one that I have seen. I rather like the zealous benediction, nice fast spam heal when you need it, and what's nice is that it pays for itself with a very reasonable cooldown and no armour penalty like healing signet. I am certainly going to cap it. The fact that you have tossed in another protection spell to justify the protection points you put in shows that your thinking is clear and your head is in the game. Personally though, I wouldn't put in more than 8 points into protection, but that is merely my opinion, nothing more and maybe this will change when I try it..

The proof of the pudding is always in the eating, the same way that the efficiency of the build is tested in the field, not in the jabbering of the "I know better than you, you noob" mob who only criticise.

I'll just provide a general warning/suggestion to people.

While creativity should be encouraged, sometimes things go to extremes - for example, you don't carry Life Transfer on your Monk. Criticism is one of the ways that more inexperienced players (or sometimes, even, experienced players) come with their builds here. If you don't want it to be criticised, don't put it here.

Some things are tried-and-not-true; for example, putting a Monk healing Elite on a Warrior is one of those cases.

LOL. If I also lived in cookie-cutter land land I would agree with you. Where I live, what you say is just another opinion.

well in pve, thats true. in pve you can run whatever you want. heck, give your warrior minions and you can still get through 90% of the game. no big deal.

but as for real pvp (no, ra and ab dont count), i guarantee you will not see top ranked guilds running any of the oh-so-creative but oh-so-crappy builds. you use what works best, and a monk with life transfer, for example, will never work best. that is a fact. its not a matter of cookie-cutter.

you play for one of two reasons: to win or to have fun. but remember, winning is fun...

But Grenth's Balance works great.

Usually everyone is. Aside from the people who make the builds that I said above and then flame other people for saying it's crap.
