As for mathematics of prot spirit + SoA: 135 health * 10% = 13.5
SoA reduces by 5, so 13.5-5 = 8.5 damage.
What happens to this 8.5 damage? Naruto apparently thinks that it stacks. It does not otherwise the first hit would make you take 8.5 damage, the next 3.5, and then it would take 0 damage. Unfortunately, you take 0 damage every time (even at the beginning), AND the description makes no mention of cumulative damage reduction. The total of 5 seconds of calculations are enough to show that SoA + PS is not functioning correctly.
You make a valid point about the fact that nobody would allow it to continue. I suppose anet could allow drops to extend to the whole map. As I said, anet has every right to do this but so far they haven't touched it at all. I'm pretty sure they reduced the item and experience bubbles last year (autumn? don't remember too well) to prevent party leeching. Obviously they found it to be a problem then, so why would they reintroduce it now?

well actually you do take damage at the start.. and its exactly as you said..
8,3 then 0
that is with 135 life.

I should back off of this thread though.. i can see when im clearly in the wrong.
but wrong in this case seems to be a matter of opinion. and that is ok.

Are you serious?
You guys have not been reading the description of shield of absorption. ANET must have made typos. They always do, like with Intimidating Aura (It says Intimidating Gaze on skill description). I also thought it was a exploitation, but as I tested it out, it was not. As a 135 monk, using shield of absorption
REDUCES YOUR DAMAGE YOU TAKE -5 EACH TIME YOU GET HIT EVERY HIT MEANING
First Hit- I will take -8 damage, because protective spirit reduces it to 13, but then SoA makes it go to -8
Second Hit- I will take -3 damage, because protective spirit reduces it to 13, but then SoA makes it go -8 AND THEN -3 because I've been hit a grand total of 2 times while having SoA on me
Third Hit- This is where it gets fun. Cast protective spirit again to heal yourself back to 135 hp. Every hit, on the third hit and after will do -0 damage until SoA ends.
Now who still doesn't understand this skill?
You actaully do indeed take -13, -8, then -3. I've seen it. Would you like screenshots?
Edit: Who does not understand science? When an object falls in an area without air resistance, lets say, at the normal rate of 9.8 m/s/s which is 9.8 meters per second every second. Meaning on the first second, it will drop 9.8 meters. On the 2nd second, it would be 9.8+9.8=19.6...This would continue until the object stops falling, sort of like how when SoA would end.

How is killing a boss by yourself not solo farming? NOOB!
Exploits = GOOD
GOOD = Not Wrong
Hey, I'm a lazy bastard and want to do things the easy way. If I want to scratch my ass while my henchies kill everything but the boss, then gosh darnit I'll do it and I'll call it "Solo Farming"

Ironicly what you are doing brings this definition to mind: Steal
"to take (the property of another or others) without permission or right, esp. secretly or by force"
You are "forcing" your hench outside of drop distance so they cannot get the drops they are entitled to.
Here is the link for that :

So by dictonary definition you are stealing my friend. and stealing.. is not farming..

Congradulations Kooter, you found something else to bitch about!
