my dom spike build--ra, ab, gvg, pve
with this build, your main goal isnt to shutdown your opponent, but to deal massive amounts of damage. (although you burn off your oppenents energy to a good extent).
Domination Magic--16--superior rune+hat
Fast Casting--9--minor rune
Inspiration Magic--11--minor rune
Skills used in order--spiritual pain, energy surge, energy burn, wastrel's worry, shatter delusions, drain delusions, empathy and ether feast
Usage-pick a target, caster is best because your target needs energy to burn with energy surge/burn. wastrel's worry is mainly for using shatter delusion and drain delusions but can be used as damage also. cast spiritual pain, energy surge, energy burn, wastrels worry (dont let it take effect, shatter it), cast wastrels worry again and either let it do the damage or use drain delusions for energy if your in need. empathy isnt exactly required, but seeing as there is no defense, empathy might discourage any tanks or assassins. if you want, drop empathy and use archane echo for spiritual pain or energy surge. you can also put your remaininng attributes into illusion for imagined/etheral/kitahs burden.
this build is great in ra and gvg when the other team has a ritual lord and they are all hiding behind the rit's spirits. spiritual pain recharges instantly if it hits a spirit, so you can cast it up to 5-7 times depending on your energy. now, thats 500-700 damage worth of armor ignoring damage.

WW doesnt work with SD/DL. You won't trigger WW damage by removing the hex... it has to stay for its full duration. Drop WW and use Ether Phantoms. EP also covers Empathy well and puts pressure on the nrg.

Why does your combo have two hex removals in succession of each other? Your combo only has one hex before the two hex removals.

Wastrel's = no.
Why the two Delusions?
Empathy = no.
Also, Ether Feast is not a good selfheal IMO.

I pretty much agree on Ether Feast. Weak, but really the only option if you want a self-heal.

You Forgot Wastrel's Demise way better than Wastrel's Worry Imo
You just have to cast it smartly...
Ether Feast nees a fix but its ok to use
Ether Phantom Suggestion was Great you gain Energy Management this way
Empathy is a real Wild Card Here
(Since it deals no Unconditional Spike Damage)
So Unnatural Signet Might be nice as a source of Damage to put in

Get one Delusion off for a res.
All in all, I'd go for a Warrior anyday.

I use a variation of this build, but i only use it in RA and TA, since you need a monk or heal rit to use it. It is meant to kill casters, especially monks, but can be used effectively on wars as well.
Skills:
E-Surge
E-Burn
Spiritual Pain
Mantra of Inscriptions
Unnatural Signet
Leech Sigent
Backfire
Res Signet
Again, you cant use this build unless you have a healer, so it is really meant for TA and RA. It does massive amounts of damage to casters if you spam. You can also, instead of E-Surge, you can use Mantra of Recovery to keep up your spells. All of your attribute points should be in Dom with 16, 10 in inspiration and 10 in FC (+3 rune+1 hat in Dom, +1 in insp, and +1 in FC).

i dont have a res there because i mainly use the build for ab. and also, drain delusions was an accident, i meant to put energy trap. wastrels worry is only there to be shattered, and it works good on people running away, as they probably wot use a skill in 3 seconds while running.

I generally only do RA, but I will start playing Hero's Arena. (I would like to GvG but can't find an Asian-time guild). I have played RA alot. Sometimes (often) that is very frustrating. I have never felt that I really made a difference in RA as a warrior, sin, or ranger...RA always seems to depend on if the team has a monk who is any good, and which side has more rage quitters / tards. That being said, I used this build in RA over the last weekend...and it made a big difference. My build was:
Esurge
Epain
Spiritual Pain
Leech Signet
Shatter Enchant
Energy Leach.
That new sin skill that gives +8 regen and +40 armor
Res Sig
Great way to reduce the effectiveness of the other team. The first 4 skills do increadible amounts of damage. Between Energy Leach and Leach Sig, I don't run out of energy. My only possible problem is the recharge on the damage-spells is 20 seconds and 30 seconds, so there are some times where I'm doing little for like 10 seconds after a burst.
BTW, this is good against warriors too. Must warriors have around 25 energy, hit them with the esurge skills first and they lose some effectiveness.
[edit: i like the idea of unatural signet to add a little to the spike...]
I may want to sub-out Shatter enchants...don't know what to replace it with.

Feigned Neutrality, which gives +80 armor and a significant amount of regen for very little attributes. Works perfect on a Mesmer like this who usually has a bit of downtime between recharges.

I would swap wastrel's worry for phantom pain, so your target gets deep wound when you shatter it; drain delusions for distortion, here comes your almighty defensive skill; ether feast with another self heal of choice, from a secondary profession; and empathy for a res, if secondary monk or rit bring a hard res
and of course put some points in illusion magic...
