Called over-farming, go farm elsewhere for a little while to reset the anti-farming code where you chest run.
P.S. - Yes, chests can be affected by the anti-farming code just like farming in one place too long.

In the heady pursuit of gold and other shiny trinkets you'll often find us farmers delving into the darkest corners of Tyria. Indiana Jones wasn't just there for the scenery you know
The holy grail is the chest that only drops (superior) vigor runes. Screams into empty air "I'm still waiting for that PM you know!!!!"

i used to farm griffons myself, but after a while they became stale. as for ettins, the ones outside beetleton dont drop nuttin, however the 6-10 that spawn outside the ascalon settlement like to drop gold armors often. within 15 min i unlocked about 7 different superior runes and a couple majors, then they got stale. for soloing, i enjor going to talmark anf farming for dust, charcoal, plant fiber, and the occasion tribal axe wishing for a 6-24 or higher so i can retire a rich man ;D I've also been doing a 3-4 man FoW build with some guildmates that can practically clear the whole place. best run we had so far was within about 30-40 min we got 14 shard drops, 1 saphire, 1 ruby, and a variety of golds with max mods. combined with coin drops and thw high value of the whites there, you can make a pretty penny.
sigh...i miss the good old days when u can go to pre and buy black dye for 10 gold ;_;

Farming the gates of kryta mission is immensely profitable. Me and my guildmate have both done it, and having farmed UW, Augury, Elona Reach, Trolls, Riverside etc, that it is the most profitable place in the game in terms of raw materials AND gold items (when they drop them, they drop good ). Anyone who wants to know the exact route, feel free to pm me in game -> The Healing Slag

If you continue to farm one single place for a period of time, the loot from the monsters become shitter.
That's why you have to farm elsewhere to remove the "anti-farming" code.

I farmed trolls near Droknars. I got maxed swords and axes, 2 purple and 2 gold. I did about 5 full runs, depending on avrica spawns. I guess I didn't farm enough to have the code affect me.

Farming gates of kryta is massively for getting cash quick, you can easely get 2 or 3k per run. It doesnt involve doing the entire mission, just follow a specific route (note that u need upgraded bags to carrya all the loot). there is a bug in kryta where u can walk through a wall and you end up coming out at the end of the mission kill all undeaders there and wahoo extra cash and u dont have to go to lion by map travelling since we are all so lazy

Everytime I get a stack of 250 Tusks, I run to the collector North of Rankor, and the one way up in Mineral Springs. Load up on collectors items, spam the trade channel for a few minutes trying to sell them, then hock it all to the merchant.
5 [email protected]/each = 40g.
5 Tusks = 1 Collector Item = 125g
85g more then just hocking them to the merchant to begin with. Worth the running IMO.
So if anyone needs any of these collector items, hit me up. I'll sell em at cost(125g not 40g!), donations welcome

Unfortunate Autocratic overmanagement
It is indeed unfortunate that nc<limp> has choosen a less honerable and fair approach to tight-fisted business economics.
Now before all the fangurls start jumping up and dissecting the miniscule explicits of what I am about to say - take a second, a deep breath, and look down the road....
It belabors me greatly that in an initial offering and subsequent understanding of the game play, that I invest hours in my enjoyment only to have some dictatorship decide I was too intelligent or garnered too much experience and have a build or method that their mulimillion dollar regime could not ascertain and it gets nerfed.
My utter dissappointment arrives also at the fact that they either want to discourage ppl in some quest/mish/endeavor or have suddenly decided it is too easy and crank up the enemy AI and anti game play to wholley unreasonable and unacceptable levels, such as the stone sumit dnks running around at light speed without even having invoked a charm to do so.
Tombs UW has also gotten ridiculous where masses assemble or dragon volley is increased in both frequency and distance.
We are inticed to certain activities by the nature of the game and they decide in their little bubble they dont like us doing that, but oh! hey! they will brag to the press that their employees get beaten up in bars for not giving out secrets to insistent game playing thugs.
This reminds me so much of the e a gamerless approach to rushing out expansion paks for significant green and never fixing the real problems. Now they make you agree to installing spyware that monitors your activities so that they can sell the info to 3rd parties. I no longer play Battlefield <anything>.
When will nc<limp> fix the freezing problems and disconnects that just seem to be getting worse and worse. They dont care the know ppl will get hooked into thinking they are having a good time and, woo woo, laadeedaa "free servers". Other games have free servers and way more players with far greater levels of grfx action going on and they dont dc or freeze. When will gw be fixed.
There can be a great many things good said about gw original (prophecies) that still holds true for the entire franchise, but do not disillusion yourselves it is all about the ease of management and money. While there are some "new" things in each subsequent addition (factions and nightfall) the really new and exciting is waning fast and could have been delivered in a single expansion over a year ago as thhey try to eek and leverage every last cent they can from you. Couple this to the fact that the things I used to enjoy are quickly getting nerfed or made a whole heck of a lot less fun becasue nc<limp> is too lazy and too cheap to really be imaginative and creative.
I did buy night fall, several versions for myself and children but guarantee I will not be buying anymore as the fun and gameplay is falling very very flat.
You might convicnce yourselves you are having fun especially after having invested so much time and as a habit. Take a step back, get outside get a perspective on how demeaning and devious ncsoft is being.
Good fortunes to you all
