If you want to the damage people will expect bring a superior fire. If you are worried about the health just slap on a superior vigor as well to negate it (mostly anyway)

As far as runes are concerned, here's how I do it:

- Sup fire magic, on my Pyromancer's Aura (headset).
- Major vigor on my robes.
- Minor energy storage on my gloves.
- Vitae on my leggins and boots.

And I use a full Archmage set. I find the vitae helps me handle degen and armor ignoring spells better; and generally makes my PvE life easier. Your milage may vary tho.

When I nuke, I stay as far away as possible; I call, let the henchies attack first, and then adjust myself so all the enemies are nicely bunched up; then I nuke.

Point Blank Area of Effect (PBAoE) spells have their uses, but I consider that a different build from general nuking.

My standard nuking build uses:

Fire Attunement, Elemental Attunement (E), Mantra of Resolve, Meteroshower, Arcane Echo, Rodgort's Invocation, Fireball and Ressurection Signet.

My attrib breakdown is: 9+1 energy storage, 12+4 fire magic and 9 inspiration.

HP is 531 and Mana is 78 and the build runs as smooth as butter.

The key idea here is heavy dmg at the best possible opprotunity; not spamming. Also you can swap out the mesmer skills, and use any secondary you want; echoing (or renewal) isn't necessary if you are in a team of multiple elementalists.

Dont worry about it; the more you play, the more comfortable and familiar you will become with the Elementalist, and pretty soon you'll come up with all kinds of builds. Just make the best of the current skills that you have, and experiment with new skills as you obtain them.

I found lava font and pheonix to be most helpful in my earlier days, you don't necessarily have to move in to use em tho; just change your tactics. Stay close to your monks, and save those point blank spells for when the warriors rush in to try to kill em... you've just went from pure offense to defense
