Perhaps they could make a combination of Read the wind and Seeking Arrows. Arrows travel twice the speed, deal additional damage and cannot be blocked or evaded.
Its not exactly unusual for them to simply combine old skills when they run out of ideas afterall.

That would be ridiculous. The duration on such a skill would have to be trash or it would be completely game breaking.

How would that been an elite preparation be game breaking? A ranger spike is defeated by a large number of things beyond block/evade. Shields Up still gives a large armour bonus.
And yet the fact that Choking Gas can hit regardless through blind is perfectly normal. Your blind, for all you know the arrow could be 20m from the target, yet its still perfectly accurate to spread choking gas around them?

A good Rspike deals with these already, without much trouble, as do all good builds.

Actually that could be a ton of damage, and quite a good spike skill, depending on how you define rapid.
Oh, and I take back what I said about having an OoA on your Rspike team with that Seeking/RtW skill... you wouldn't need it, since the other team has basically no protection versus your spike anyway.

It couldn't fire faster than say a needle shot spread, else that would be insane.
But that would be a very powerful skill paired with Orders, Spirits and preps. I'm not sure if the declining damage would be enough to balance it. It would have to strip preperations in my mine, like barrage.

I couldn't really think of much. Anyways, I like this thread alot, gives me some hopes for Nightfall. Ghostly Arrow sounds like something that would be very fun to use, maybe ANET could incorperate it into a preperation even.
