Tiss Danssir in the Elona Reach mission will use this skill sometimes. However, there won't be an indicator as to when he is casting it. Your best bet is to clear out everything around him, run away, then come back and watch him outside of agro range. Every once in a while, you can see purplish colored swirls around him, that's when he's used Mantra of Recovery so try and use your Signet of Capture then.

This skill is also available from a mesmer boss at the end of Dunes of Despair while you're defending the hero from attackers. I think it's probably random which boss(es) show up during this portion of the mission. For me, he showed up on the Western side out of the three directions you're attacked.

Again, with Stances you don't see an indicator of when bosses are using the skill. Try using your Signet of Capture before the boss uses any other skills and you should be able to get it, since he apparently keeps this stance up while out of combat.

Default worth an elite?

particularly for e/me is this worth it?

I can see a me primary really liking it built certain ways -
drop a bunch of mana, drain it back, fire away, and bonus back later

but an ele primary.. already have a bunch, other elites may help out more

I guess one good thing, since its a stance can't be stripped
(though I suppose stance killer skills like warr can pop off?)

No. Without any fast casting, it will only last 5 seconds. That's a pretty expensive spell for a 5 second duration.

If I'm correct, this stance won't help itself because it should only improve recharge times of skills casted while this stance is active. With 12 fast cast, that's 17 seconds on a 30 second recharge skill. You do the math.

If you really want some fun with this spell, use it with Arcane Echo as a Mesmer. Cast Arcane, then an already quickly recharging skill like Lightning Strike. Then cast Mantra. Turn two Lightning Strikes into a fast recharging Lightning Storm.

According to the description posted here, this is a stance, not a spell, and only improves the recharge time of spells. Therefore, even if you cast it while already under its effect (which you could do occasionally, for example, with a weapon that gives a chance for fast skill recharge), it presumably won't improve its own recharge time.

fyi, it makes spells recharge twice as fast (just in case the exact meaning of 50% faster was ambiguous). Chaos storm took 15 sec to recharge with this on.

im sorry but no, it doesnt. i suppose that if you had QZ down and had a mantra of recovery that lasted over 15 seconds, then you could use it again while you were still under the effect of it, and then it would recharge constantly every 7.5 seconds. thats a little bit unecessary though, dont you think? ^^

Worth An Elite? Depends. If you are Mez/Ele nuker, not really. It can be ok, but you really want to use Glyph of Renewal in this case. If you are an Ele/Mez, not worth it at all. If you are a Dom Mez, yes. Oh yes very much so. I Just got it and tried it out. My dom mez normally runs around with 2 collectors items, a Cane that has a 20% chance recharge on Dom, and an Inscribed Chakram that has a 20% chance on Dom recharge and casting speeds. When I hit this puppy, the rechargers were insanely fast. I already have faily quick ones cuz of all that recharging, but now they were just.. omg. I felt like I was under the influence of the Vizier's enchantment from Ring of Fire! I was spiking like a mofo! I don't think it's particularly worth it for an Illusion mez, cuz then you want to use the stance Mantra of Persistence to increase the duration of your illusions. This elite would just goto waist there. So Dom or Inspiration, would be a solid choice.

I might actually use this now that the energy cost has been reduced. (Although reducing the cost to 5e would have been the best).

Not really. In some builds yes, in others, no. I have a hex control Resmer who can do very well, and he uses this to cycle his skills, as an example. Provided you have several skills which benefit from the faster cycling rate, and that they generate the energy to pay for themselves, it's a good option. For example; Drain Enchantment can get a nice 13 energy profit every 25 seconds; make it 12.5 seconds and you can get 4 a minute instead of 2 (actually, you can get it to recharge within duration of the mantra, and thus cast it twice under the first mantra, and get 2 more by the end of a minute, for 5 castings); that's 2 (or 3) extra enchantments removed, and the 20 energy for your Mantra is covered by the extra energy from Drain Enchantment, with a bit to spare. Add in an energy recovery tool like Power Drain; you can use it twice as much as well, so you can safely power other skills. It's all about building to your elite with this skill - you can't just take any old build, shove Mantra of Recovery in and expect it to work.

This is the best tool for many mesmers, in that it makes the do everything faster; if you run out of enegry normally, or are reliant on your regeneration hold steady, you'll run out, as you don't have the energy input to sustani casting twice as much. If you have a build that can support its energy needs you should be fine.

I agree with Epinephrine. When I was beginning, I figured I would never use this skill, but now I use a build similar to what Epine is suggesting. Interrupts are great for ruining any casters effectiveness, but interrupts and enchantment destroyers tend to have long recharge times. I cast Mantra of Recovery right before using backfire. Then I cast wastrel's worry while backfire is on the enemy caster. This makes a diabolical situation since they will lose 60 health after three seconds if they do nothing, and if they do something, they will lose 133 health. By the way, I have 14 in domination. This reduces my energy significantly of course, so after 10 seconds, backfire comes off and they are excited to start casting again. I interrupt a spell with power drain and have enough energy to cast backfire, which has recharged by then because of the wonderful elite Mantra of Recovery, and start casting wastrels worry again. I have a couple of other energy getters like drain enchantment or shame which I use at smart times.
With this setup, you can keep your energy high, interrupt the important enemy spells, and cause significant damage to the caster. Of course, you will not be able to kill an opponent who has COP with this build(unless they're noobs); however, how many casters in the HOH are going to have COP? Just find the ones that don't have COP, and in the HOH there aren't many who do, and work on them. This is my favorite mesmer build and it is because Mantra of Recovery makes my powerful spells recharge quickly enough to be useful.
