Like what? They're all tied to expertise except the wonderous dryder's defenses
It isn't that great. Barrage can be used, but a normal R/ barrager is better, Tiger's Fury can be used but so can Tiger warriors, we can all see how good they are..

I support the above build, but I'd use twisting fangs over Death blossom.

A ranger secondary on your assassin makes it very versatile. You could go part trapper with daggers (very possible, I might add), you have access to nature rituals (some particularly nice ones under Beast Mastery) and then there's Apply Poison (you could use it with Way of the Empty Palm for best results).
Critical Barrager isnt the do all and end all of A/R, there are plenty of good, effective options.

I gagged when I saw you say that you would use Apply Poison. 25e? Agreed though, the crit barrager just isn't what you want for A/R. If you're gonna be an assassin, be an assassin. If you wanna be a barrager, roll a ranger.
I think the main incentive is really going part Beast Master with a the +energy and +adren BM elite on your bar for a follow-up to Twisting Fangs. I've seen A/R used other ways like AoD-sin with barbed trap as an elite (basically drop a trap at a choke point before you start fighting and it buys your casters an extra 3-10 seconds to pre-kite).
It's really hard to make good use of your assassin's secondary profession so much that it is just as/more powerful than had you used purely assassin skills.

Did you gag when I mentioned Way of the empty Palm too?
Elite Enchantment Spell. For 5...17 seconds, off-hand and dual attacks cost no Energy.
And where does the 25e come in? Apply Poison is 15 e, with Way of the Empty Palm it is an additional 5 energy. That brings it to 20 energy in total, unless you meant using an additional 5 e in the form of a Lead attack. Which I dont. Just straight into Off-hand and Dual. You don't even have to stop there. If you choose to extend, then I can see where the 25+ energy comes in. Plus, a set of Zealous daggers and you're gg.
Way of the Empty Palm is there to pull off some stuff with Off-hand and Dual combos that wouldn't ordinarily be possible (or logical *lol*) under normal circumstances.

Ranger secondary also helps you get into groups when completing the storyline missions. Critical Barrager often gets into mission groups much easier than dagger mode assassin.
I have used ranger secondary a lot, going so far as to catch an Elder Level 20 Crab as a pet. But other secondaries are also very good, or even better just depending on what you are trying to do. Necro has got a lot of good stuff too, and monk, and mesmer, and etc.

Don't forget, you can also use antidote signet to remove poison, disease and the dreaded blindness.
