A Rt/R healer build I've played in PvE (before capturing RL)
Hi all, after having cleared Factions with 5 Tyrian characters, I decided to try a ritualist. I'm new to this class, yesterday I cleared the game (took about 35hrs) but with this I just did a little part of the job.
Anyway, since the best way to be accepted in random pugs is to announce himself as someone who heals/protects, I decided to play this role to progress quickly in the game.
I wanted to use Recuperation at all costs, since a +3 mending on all allies is a huge and unparallelled source of healing, but I had the problem of the long recharge time of the spirit, that sometimes was also target of foes.
Since RL is available only 2 missions before the last one, I went to Lion's Arch and bought Serpent Quickness, and later in the game I also captured Attuned was Songkai.
The build I used was essentially this:
Recuperation
Serpent Quickness
Attuned was Songkai [E]
Soothing Memories
--- other 3 restoration spells of choice ---
Flesh of My Flesh
Restoration 12+1+1
Wilderness Survival 10
Spawning Power 11
Basically I started with Recuperation, followed in the middle of cast by SQ and then AwS. In the middle of the battle used SM to heal at no cost, and other restoration spells according to the situation.
The key is that with this build Recuperation lasts 43 secs and recharges in the same time, when it's ready also SQ is, and since you're still holding Songkai the new cast of Recuperation requires only 9 energy.
I've found this build effective and didn't have problems with energy management, just wanted to share it with more expert ritualists to have some opinions.

I have some doubts about that.
If I understand well the description, Ghostly Haste reduces recharge time of "spells", and I think that binding rituals are not spells.
GH could be useful only to shorten the recharge time of Songkai, but this is not the point of the build, I wanted the possibility to keep recuperation nearly always active.
Even a 13 spawning, it recharges spells 18% faster for 18s, whereas SQ at 10 Wilderness recharges all skills 33% faster for 25s, so it shortens the recharges of both recuperation and Songkai.

Binding Rituals are not spells.
Serpent's of Quickness + Weapon of Quickening or Soul Twisting. Use ST on Life Spirit and you get healed and be able to cast Recouperation faster and it will recharge instantly. Order is Life, ST, Recoup. (assuming you want to make sure that Recouperation is your main spirit).

Your willing to sink 10 ranks into WS just so you can keep Recuperation up?
Just use Ghostly Haste, buff Restoration/Spawning so your active healing is better, and live with the 15 second down time of Recuperation.
(plus, Attuned Was Songkai needs every second of duration you can give it)

Attuned was Songkai has a fixed duration, only the energy cost can be ranked.

Again disagree
If you check my attribute spending, you see that restoration is already maxed out (the only way to increase would be the use of a major/superior rune).
Only spawning could be increased to 13, but the only advantage would be a saving of 1 energy when casting the second recuperation, due to the fact that at 13 spawning a 15e spell/ritual costs 8e instead that 9e with 11 spawning.
Ghostly Haste is useless in this build (and very little useful in general, as it affects for a short time and with small effects only spells and not skills).

I have used an Rt/R as a healer throughout factions...when I got past the Gyala Hatchery I got the elite that I now use...before that I used Recuperation...
Lively was Naomei
Mend Body and Soul
Soothing Memories
Wielder's Boon
Spirit Light
Weapon of Warding
Preservation {E} (used Recuperation before)
Spare slot - often take Spirit Rift just to allow me to deal a little damage from time to time. If I think we will be moving through a map quickly I will take Draw Spirit so I can take Preservation/Recuperation with me.
I have 15 points in Restoration (12 + 1 + 2)
The rest spread between spawning and channelling.
This build has worked perfectly all the way through Factions for me...and I very rarely run out of energy. By the time I have cast Soothing Memories/Mend Body and Soul/Wielser's Boon I have often gained most of the energy back from them.
I got told a few days ago when I was helping a guildie in Boreas Seabed that I couldn't be a healer because I didn't have Monk as secondary. The idiot guy refused to help us, saying "I'm going to sit here and watch you all die", until he realised that no-one was dying...then came to help with his tail between his legs. Ahh...proving people wrong feels so good!
I have been the only healer in few missions with this build...namely Zen Daijun and Dunes of Dispair...all worked perfectly.
