I have two zealous swords

Sword #1 is a collector Dadao sword - Damage 15%^50

Sword #2 is a Crenellated sword - Damage 14%^50

I prefer the skin on sword #2, (Crenellated)

Am I missiong out on a significant amount of damage by not having this 1%?
I've tried doing some testing but have not really answered my question.
I know every little bit helps, but It just doesnt seem to be that much of a difference

Assuming both max damage, both customized against a 60 AL target (source of largest difference between the two).

For the 14^50:

18.5 * 2^((68-60)/40) * (1.2)(1.14) = 29.07 Damage per average hit

For the 15^50

18.5 * 2^((68-60)/40)(1.2)(1.15) = 29.33 Damage per average hit

For a critical on the 14^50:

22 * 2^((88-60)/40) * (1.2)(1.14) = 48.89 per critical

For a critical on the 15^50:

22 * 2^((88-60)/40) * (1.2)(1.15) = 49.32 per critical

Since the game rounds damage up to the nearest whole number... your looking at a difference of one damage per critical hit. Not a significant reason to worry.

Yeah there is no real big differnce between 14^50 and 15^50. 14^50's do the about the same damage and cost a whole lot less then a 15^50 would cost. 15^50's are more for selling puposes(of course with low req). Have a 14^50 gothic axe and a 15^50 summit axe both customized and dont see a differnce in damage.

You don't have to do any funny math to figure it out - 1.14/1.15 gives you a damage difference of less than 1% (.87% less damage overall). Not having a perfect weapon is unlikely to cost you too many kills in PvP, but if you have the resources there's no reason not to use a maxed weapon.

Oh, and the game rounds to the nearest whole number when dealing damage, after all calculations have been done. It most certainly doesn't always round up.

I've actually been looking for someplace that stated that. I've been reading the Guildwiki article and discussion and there were a statement or two that suggested it rounded up...

I thought the game always rounded DOWN when it came to damage...

Either way, back to the OP point, basically the only difference in 14>50 and 15>50 is rounding, so you could score an additional point of damage in certain circumstances.

In PvE, 14>50 is fine.

Even in PvP, I won't make a big fuss.

But do use the 15>50 in pvp though, because you can!

As proved with testing weapons for damage mods. 14 and 15% mods are incredibly hard to tell apart. I think you have to record 100s of hits before you can actually tell which is which, maybe because somewhere down the line theres 1 specific number only the 15 can reach. The critical hits are identical.

If you do 100+ damage consistentely then a 15^50 is definitaly more useful. I find it hard to believe that happens though.

Like everyone else says.. it makes no real difference, BUT.. i have a kinda pet peeve that if its not perfect it just really irks me.. idk if its just me but i just CANT have a 14^50 20/20 +30 sword... it just doesnt fly with me..

But.. what if your locked in a fierce 1 v 1 and the guy beats u with 1 hp left? hmm that wouldnt happen with a 15^50... but im just being weird... (customize it for +20% always damage)
