"Paladin" may be subject to personal interpretation, but the classic view could well be a sword and shield using warrior in shiny armor with healing spells, which doesn't have to include Mending.
There's no reason to follow convention, do whatever you want.
Here's a build from guildwiki:

Thanks for the link.
You know it is fun to build your own custom type, but there is something to be said for going prototypical.
I kinda envision the Paladin as a hammer wielding / healing well more team buffs really type of of character.
The hammer due to Paladins High Damage per strike but slow strike speed type of attack.
Too bad all hammers are Two Handed, would be nice to have shield and some shield strike special skills.
Definately see a Paladin in gold color type armor.

The paladin is class on warcraft I think, when I played warcraft 3 I remember there being the hammer-wielding paladin with the spell that heals allies and damages foes. That what you're thinking of?

Yes it is. But I believe it is part of D&D lore not just Warcraft.
From Wikipedia
"In the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game, paladin is one of the base character classes. The paladin is a holy knight, crusading in the name of good and order, and is a divine spellcaster. By definition and game restriction, paladins are almost always of the Lawful Good alignment (variant paladins were created which adhere to other alignments). Paladin characters are expected to demonstrate and embody goodness - they are not supposed to lie or use poison, and some interpretations say they should use stealth as a last resort. Switching to any alignment other than Lawful Good or breaching part of the Paladin's code of conduct results in a loss of all class abilities. The paladin is a champion of justice and destroyer of evil protected and strengthened by an array of divine powers.
Paladins are knights, working for their church or an order. Qualifying for an order is often difficult, and membership always requires that the paladin follow a specific code of conduct. These orders often allow non-paladins as members, with good-aligned rangers and fighters being the most common sort of nonpaladin members. Paladins can serve in the military force of an aristocrat sanctioned by their religion, or within some autonomous church-based military order established for defense.
The epic paladin stands in the forefront of the battle against chaos and evil in the world, shining as a beacon of hope to all who fight the good fight."

I really just started Guild Wars. So i am not too familiar with all the skills a warrior/monk can get.
What are 1 or 2 great team buffs/skills this mix has?
What is a good multi-enemy hammer special the warrior has, guess it would be an AoE Hammer skill?

Yeti Smash is your lot I think, unless you have GW: Prophecies which gives you access to Earth Shaker {E} and Crude Swing.
I would drop the monk half, most party buff skills will drain your energy in about 2 uses, instead look to the warrior skills in the "Tactics" attribute, "Watch Yourself!" and "Shields Up!" are good shouts.
Check GuildWiki for skills and info.

There is no archetypical build.
Here's the build I use for my W/Mo:
Attributes:
16 sword
10 healing
9 strength / tactics (depends on shield)
frenzy
galrath slash
silverwing slash
final thrust
vigorous spirit
live vicariously
healing hands
rebirth
Use a zealous sword of enchanting
You can gain 27 health every time you hit something. Healing Hands is your self heal. Frenzy for adrenaline. Spam skills 2, 3, 4 for damage. Enchanting mod on sword is optional, but recommended. An extra 2 seconds of HH can save you a lot more than 30 health, and an extended vigorous spirit can too.
Hope that helps.

Dude get over the WoW thing already - this isn't WoW. - You can't be a loladin in this game.
And a real Paladin (as D&D) can't be made in GW since there's no alignment in the game and a lot of the interaction a paladin would have would be in the form of intimidation and persuation.

Of course you can be a Paladin in this game. Anet even used to offer a Paladin premade character, given the term "paladin" GW's official seal of approval as it were. The Paladin premade, for those who don't know, was a sword warrior with Healing Hands as his elite.
Basically, the term has evolved to mean any self-healing W/Mo build, usually a sword warrior, but often not.
The paladin is a FRPG archetype going way back to the first edition of Advanced Dungeons&Dragons. In AD&D, he was a holy warrior who combined the abilities of the fighter and cleric classes. One of his special abilities was a powerful self-heal called Lay on Hands.
So think about it:
AD&D: Fighter/Cleric+Lay on Hands
GW: Warrior/Monk+Healing Hands
So yeah, the term "paladin" fits GW's legions of self-healing W/Mo's pretty well.

Thanks for all the builds.
I actually started my Paladin character. But hes is going to be a hammer wielder. Sucks that i lose the shield but thats ok.
Right now I just finished pre-searing at level 6. I have the starting game armor and a Rhino Hammer(comes with the Game of the Year edition).
Unfortunately i only have 1 hammer special skill which is a useless knockdown.
But i am forcing the paladin to deal with it until he learns more skills.
With the lack of skills i need this hammer just to stay alive.
Question any weapons or skills cause a glow around the weapon? Like a flaming hammer?
Thanks.

Chaos Axe, Fiery Dragon Sword and Icy Dragon Sword are pretty much it, although there are some in Faction's I'd consider more sparkly than glowy. Even adding a fiery upgrade to a weapon doesn't change its appearance.
A wa/el can use conjure flame to deal additional fire damage but no visible effect is seen on the actual weapon.

I don't want to kill your hopes or anything, but in general you're going to find that building an effective character while trying to adhere to conventional fantasy archetypes is quite a headache and often impossible.
In Guildwars, warriors, not mages, are the high damage class. As such, any slot on your bar that isn't being used to increase your damage output needs to be seriously reconsidered. While I'm sure many people play W/Mo to try and be the classic 'Paladin', you're going to be far less effective than the player that just wants to go out and kill stuff fast, however ironic that might seem.
The more you play, the more you'll realize that GW is a fundamentally technical game that really has more in common with CCGs like Magic:The Gathering than RPGs like D&D or Warcraft. In a typical team build of 8 people, you're essentially building a 'deck' of 64 skills out of possible hundreds, and then distributing these 64 among the 8 characters in the most efficient fashion.
The people I know who played Guildwars looking for a roleplaying or community MMO aspect left the game not long after starting (usually for games like FFXI or WoW), whereas the people who started playing GW for the technical, competitive aspect are still playing today.

gj explaining that, its also a reason why there isn't any "roleplaying" districts yet,
i saw a petition or thread or something explaining how their should be rp districts or something along those lines . . . . .

I think a real W/Mo in this game is of the Prot/Smite variety.
Use Smite to slam hexes off yourself and feed Strength of Honor. [Judge's insight isn't worth teh energy efficiency]
Hammer with Smite R0X when using Holy Strike since it benefits from KD...
Bam, hammer slammin' Paladin [used to use one in PvP, quite deadly I might add since Holy Strike ignores all armor and can't be blocked, evaded, protected against...]
