R/W with a set of Fur-lined (or Frostbound) armor. Balanced Stance+Charge. I wouldn't use Escape, since it's a stance (which cancels Balanced Stance if you have it on while getting eaten by wurms) and you should already have another running skill (Storm Chaser?) for when you're waiting for Balanced Stance+Charge to come back. Escape doesn't help with the knockdown, no.
I did it with my R/Mo...once. A long time ago, and that was on a test run with a warrior (that took all wurm aggro, leaving me clear to make it all the way to Dreadnought's Drift, and this was on an absurdly good monster spawn). R/Mo is not a good idea, needless to say.
You can't unlock elite skills through Faction and buy it from a trader. You'll have to go capture it in Perdition Rock.

Escape DOES help with knockdown, but nowhere near enough to depend on it with the Drok's run (I know from Desert runs... I can break aggro by not getting knocked down a few times)

I don't know that a Ranger will ever make the run. If you drop the /W secondary you miss out on Heal sig, Charge, and balanced stance. If you drop the /Monk secondary then you miss out on purge conditions and holy veil. I just don't see a Ranger making the trip. Sorry but it's not very likely, when a warrior has problems with this run.
Rangers are more suited to running in the desert.

Use R/W. I think that R/Mo is pretty much impossible nowadays.

Either an insanely good spawn (no wurm in the first tunnel) or he had someone bait the wurms while he slipped past.

how do you guys use charge with a Ranger primary? Isn't it a Warrior elite which would mean you can only use it with a warrior right?

i hate doin those long runs with ranger.... ranger is more fragile to bad spam,
more rezoning= more chance to get bad spam
rangers do short runs better and faster then wariors, but long ones.... need a warior for that.

You can use secondary skills, obviously. Change to R/W and cap it as usual.

ok i have made numerous runs to droks with my ranger...b4 they made it harder (havent tried recently)...just a word of advise...most ranger runners prefer storm chaser...BEST thing to do is drop storm chaser dump points into expertise and protection (try mending AND vital blessing) and smite hex (i dont worry much of conditions cause theres no real major threats that are conditions. dodge and escape are good enuf to run with (if u need more then bring lightning reflexes to give a little bit more time. heal area acts as a healing signet and healing breeze is GREAT to have. Put breeze on b4 wurm spawn and escape it thru wurms...usually u make it...hardest part of run for ranger is beginning cave...u get hit with ice imps + knockdown...u get pissed off....the rest is easy pickins (trust me). i hope this helps.

yes but they are timed in a way that i can usually set off a healing breeze when i get up...and when im knocked down i pop an escape and i can fly away as soon as i get up. Running would be easier with a anti-knockdown skill for ranger, but if u can do without...u won't really complain that much.

......its sad you guys dont knwo this. but rangers are with out dought the best runners in the whole game.
Droks run is simple for a rangers to do. while i personally havent tried it with mine, i sno several people who can run every location in the shiver peaks (iron mines granite, ect...).
AND they do it fast. but most people who hae rangers dont realize it can be done, people think running is all warriors....its not.

R/W remains the best runner in the game of guild wars.
it can run droks 2 -3 times faster than silly wamos
I'd recommend using Sentry Armor over frostbound..it will save you in situations when tundra giants are throwing rocks @ you.
