You just have to run past the avicara.. it's simple. They're hardly 'blocking' your way.

Because he speaks the truth. Just run past the avicara....no speed boost is needed at all.
(I did about 15 runs a little while ago, so don't say I haven't tried it or done it recently)

...The Avicara don't block your way....They don't line up for the sole purpose of ruining your troll farming runs. Take a screenshot or something and show us otherwise.

If you're not used to the idea of running past mobs, it can seem a bit silly... so here's a few words of advice...
1. Wait. Watch where the mobs move, when there's the largeest gap available, run through it.
2. Enchant. Apply any protective enchantments or stances that will help negate damage. This will depend on your farming build as what is available to you. Check the duration of your enchantments and apply the longest lasting ones first!
3. Run. Use the keyboard so you can strafe to help avoid aggroing any avicara. Dependng on the spawn, sticking to the left hand edge can be a good route. Sometimes it's easier to go wider to the right, through a gap between two groups.
4. Keep running. Don't stop to fight, even if you're taking hits. A few ignited dual shots might hurt, but you'll be able to outlast them. Eventually, the avicara will stop chasing you.
5. Stop. Once you get to a safe place and the avicara have stopped following you (they will!), heal up, or regen. You should be right by the troll cave. Let your skills recharge before you engage!
Good luck, and have fun!

try using this skillset. The speed ench isn't required, but neither is replacing it with more damage. And with it you can (almost) always get past a spawn in front of the cave.
Flare
Inferno
Flame Burst
Meteor Shower
Armor of Mist
Fire Attunement
Arcane Echo
Mist Form

Having done many many troll farming runs, I can offer you this advice.
In five runs you will get something like the following:
One or two runs where it is easy to get to the cave.
One or two runs where you have to watch and wait for gaps to develope.
One run where the avicara spawn so high up the pass leading to the cave that you may as well respawn the level.
Just do the run a dozen times and watch and learn the spawns. There are only three or four major spawn patterns, with some minor variation in movement, but once you get to learn recognise them you should be able to get to the cave four times out of five.
Good luck :-)

Hengis' advice is correct. ^^
Those Avicara can be a major pain in the ass, for Spirit Bonders. Especially N/Mo.
Can't go through 'em.
Can't go over 'em.
Gotta go around 'em.

Here is a trick I use on the Avicara with my SB monk, just aggro a few trolls
and then run into the avicara, works 95% of the time, but the Avicara by
themselves is sure death.

Avicara will be a pain for anything but primary monks. However, if you do happen to be a monk primary, then just go Mo/Me and take Elemental Resistance (with 0 points in Inspiration). You will have no more problems from the Avicara (except possibly for their interrupts).

Since you're an ele, just use a geomancer build, and as long as you time the interrupt, you should have no problem killing the avicara at all.

if u can kill trolls, u can kill avicara. both are only "melee" attacks, with avicara having a few warriors and rangers, instead of just warriors. i dunno about ele, but i simply use same tactics on avicara as i use on the trolls with my wammo. i usually only kill them if i'm powerleveling someone for a survivor title, otherwise i usually sprint past them if on my own.
